Just so you know, ASA & XJT pilot groups will be merged under the ALPA merger policy. With the NWA/DAL merger we had NWA 95 hires mixed in with DAL 91 hires, & DAL 89 hires mixed in with NWA 86 hires.
Just because ASA is the purchasing company does not give any grounds for better seniority. It's truly in the best interest of Xjt, Asa, & Skywest to work for ONE seniority list. Anybody who can't see that has the blinders on.

Problem is the ALPA Merger Policy has been substantially weakened by the appellate court ruling on USAirways situation. Binding arbitration is not quite binding anymore. Or maybe its binding after 5,10,20 years of union decertifications and court battles? Who knows?
I can only assume anyone on these boards seeing this in a negative light or trying to fight for the ' my company is buying yours , so i should be on top ' mentality is someone who's at the very bottom of our list and is looking out for their own- which is understandable. I, for one, welcome this opportunity and think that Xjt'ers are fantastic people and IF we do this right we can put ourselves at the forefront and gain a different track and carve out a niche and business model that is very productive !
I suspect this integration is going to get very ugly very quickly. the XJT pilot group vastly outnumbers ASA, and ASA has an extremely weak MEC. The way ALPA's merger policy is laid out, there's huge potential for the ASA pilots being steamrolled due to our weak MEC. I hope the ASA pilots like ERJ145s in EWR and CLE while XJT pilots get the 700/900s they used to fly. Sure, there will be fences... for a while. But they will eventually come down. I have little faith in our "union" to protect us.
ERJ sucks, CRJ = so so. I'd rather fly the funny looking little 32 seat plane all day long than the WSCOD, along with the pay rates and C.B.A. I flew it under. All of the former ACJet/ACA/Flyi people at both ASA and XJT should hand over our copies of the 2001 green book to the ASA/XJT merger committees and tell them to copy it and make it law.
Should be COMAIR 2001 700 plus the usual 4-6% per year adjusted AT A MINIMUM. As well as separate and higher pay scale for the 900.

I don't blame the ASA pilots for being worried. ASA flies CRJ700/900 aircraft with commensurate pay and benefits. XJT is a completely 50 seat airline, and every "mainline partner" has very publicly stated that 50 seat RJs are a dying breed. I'm sure the XJT pilots will be looking to "take" those "big ass 900s" since they have 1000 more pilots than ASA. I'm shocked there aren't already a bunch of "stapler" comments on the various message boards.

I see no upside to this for the ASA pilots. The XJT pilots on the other hand just got a golden life boat. Congratulations, guys.

Just your comments on us wanting bigger planes, and thinking that our MEC is actually WORTH something shows you haven't got a clue as to what XJT is like. Man who forged your transcripts??

Is this clown joking? Does he know even one XJT pilot?? "Captain", you're clearly speaking in ignorance and would suggest you retract that entire post. XJT pilots couldn't give a flying wolinda what size plane they fly. Keep the 900's on your ceiling so you have a good view...

I don't have the language in front of me but what it basically says is that every pilot group under the holding company must be under one list. SKW's argument is that ASA is under its own holding company that is under the SKW holding company. Therefore, only ASA and XJT have to merge. Seems pretty flimsy to me but that'll have to be left up to the courts to decide.
