How long to upgrade at ASA
#5
Let me put it to you this way.....4 years at ASA, there are still just under 300 FO's senior to me here. Now, take into account that we are to soon lose 13 700's to Skywest, AND THEN retire 13 ATR's next year. With no replacements on the horizon, that is 130 Captains maybe moving back to FO. At our current rate of attrition puts upgrade at ASA to about 8 years.

As for the upgrade thing, here is the factual info. There was an award for 15 captains and 15 FOs for the Lax base. The final should be out tomorrow. This coupled with the high attrition rate should get some hiring in the fall, thusly- the upgrade should start moving. As for my fellow ASA brother, the remaining 13 700 are not going to SW yet. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. I just got back from a check ride and the trng dept. is still prepairing for the 900's. Don't forget ATL is the busy spot for delta and those planes will go to where delta needs them. If you see a SW base in ATL, then panic.
