message to mesaba pilots
I know that most if not all of you are upset by this decision, I don't blame you but i wanted to say that I have a lot of respect for you and look forward to working with you in the future. I think that we can be a strong group going forward. We share a common bond that we are both former airlinkers and have the same bases. We have the ability to make this something good in the future. I know that you are losing your flow and your benifits and I don't have an answer for that - it sucks no doubt about it. I believe we need to fairly integrate the seniority lists of all three of our companies and work on a joint contract that will protect all of our interests going forward. PNCL Corp has two airplanes that are in demand in the 900 and the q400. If they have to be flown at a regional instead of a major then lets fly them together and be compensated well for it. I believe that you can help our pilots in getting a contract with your experience. I also believe your good safety record can help our company as well. I plan on going to your crew bases and introducing myself to you guys and i hope some more of my pinnacle co workers will as well. Its going to be tough at first, there will be rumors spread about what is going to happen, there will be tools at both places who don't know how to handle this kind of situation, and there will be pressure from management but if our unions can work together towards a common goal at all 3 airlines - then we can keep the good tradition of your name and continue to build a better one at ours.

Thanks for the message. We will definitely have to stick together now if we want this to come out right. I hope all 3 pilot groups can stay positive and mature about this situation. It can't be about what you got and I didn't get anymore. It can't be about who's flying jets and who's flying turboprops. It's got to be about what we get or don't get. I don't want to see Mesaba face the same problems Pinnacle has been dealing with for so long. I hope we can pull the best out of each airline and combine it for a meaningful and worthwhile contract.

i feel for you guys... the senority integration process is gonna be very challenging im afraid, neither side will end up satisfied. We all need to unite ourselves and do this as fairly as possible... I know I wouldn't be excited either.. but we welcome you!!

Thankfully all three of the MEC's believe this as well. Hopefully in the end we will have one list with over 3,000 pilots and 1 contract. Seniority integration is not something that will please 100% of the pilots, its impossible to do. The hope is to do it with the least amount of tears and blood required.

I agree, and i believe it would be beneficial to get that list integrated before any more aircraft are ordered.
