Thanks to 'What' for his earlier reply ... and to the above SATCFI: I keep hearing they'll "send you home". But, specifically, what is that normally over? For example, if your TT count is 1.4 hours under or over, are you just immediately sent home? Or is about those who outright lie? I've always wondered what exactly people are talking about with that statement.

Also, aside from filling out your entire airlineapps with everything and it showing you have the minimums, is there anything else one should do in the application process?

Thanks again to all for the help.

I interviewed and applied in Oct 10, My first application wasn't completed the way it should have, I filled it out at work on a break just to see what all was needed right after Eagle dropped the 200 hrs Multi requirement, needless to say I published the application. This was on a Sunday night by Tuesday afternoon I had an invitation to interview, no "2 day email". Long story short, I reviewed the application and crossed my T and dotted my i. I called HR explained the situation, they said don't worry about it. Also as we all know airline apps is a huge pain to get correctly when it comes to flight hours because they want everything broken down. I had a discrepancy of 20 hrs in my numbers when broken down the way airline apps wanted it. I called them and they told me not to worry about it. Now, I used a PDF program to fill the form they request you fill out and typed all the paperwork they wanted, I properly completed my airline apps application, printed it and brought it to the interview. All my paperwork was typed and organized, I even gave them the application that I had printed, they told me great, sign it here (you have to sign you app when you show up to interview) and he said we will just keep both, thanks for fixing it. I completed the interview and review board. Make sure your stuff is correct, make it neat, do the paperwork exactly how they want it and you will be fine. Eagle is huge on attention to detail, it's the culture here, it might seem crazy with all the Divestiture, hiring, upgrading and all the other stuff but it's still an organized mess. They want to hire as many people as possible because it's in AMR benefit to flow as many Captains to American as possible. To hold a line as captain it requires over 10 years on most bases. Divested or not AMR will control "Eagle" and the cheaper they can keep the workforce they higher profit they will make. Eagle might shrink, Eagle might be sold, Eagle might be divested but Eagle is going to have the highest movement in the near future. AMR spends upward of 30,000 dollars to train a new hire. Just on the month of October this year Eagle will spend nearly 2,500,000 dollars in training new hires that started class this month.

Its hard to tell why they send people home. they will not tell you the reason. Just be as accurate and honest as possible. if your times don't come out perfect no biggie. send them an email telling them you have a little discrepancy and you looking for it. being very proactive goes a long way.
just seen a post that said its 10 years to captain...not anymore. As of july most JR CA. was 4yrs and 4 months and that's about to drop even lower.

10 year Captain to hold a line in most bases, a 12 year Captain at Eagle is considered a junior Captain. Yes, we have awarded Captain position to Pilots under 5 year seniority but they haven't been to upgrade training yet and are at least a year before holding a line but we have allot of movement and the upgrades are coming down quickly and by next summer all Pilots hired in 2007 should have the opportunity to hold an upgrade if they chose to, as long as the music doesn't stop of course.

So, does this mean they are going to invite me for an interview or just that they are going to review the application in detail?
If so, do they propose one interview date or several dates possible? And within what timeframe (2, 3 weeks?)?

how soon after the interview will Eagle send you to the ATP transition course if you're required to complete it? thanks.
It seems like it takes about a month to start class there. ATP will send you materials that you have to look over and study and there is also some IBT that needs to be completed before you get there.

Someone who was hired in 2006 is fast approaching 6 years at Eagle unless he was hired in late 2006 then he is at 5. I don't think we have anyone or that many "on line in the left seat" who has been at Eagle under 5 years because the guys from the July Vacancy bid are either entering training or waiting for class since the earliest they could have entered training was Sep and as we know things aren't moving that fast in the training center.

I said guys under 5 years seniority are the ones awaiting training. The guys who were hired in late 2006 early 2007. And your friend might be on the line be he is not "holding a line".

Who knows what this e-mail means, they may just say go get some more multi time for example after reviewing my application.
Just curious, was your app update one that took you to the 51 Multi? Or was it just a single engine time update?
