The people at the normal hotel are jerks about taking you places, and the times they pick you up at the school house after normal hours suck. The park inn is really awesome, I wish we would use it as the main hotel.
Yea just be glad you didnt have to stay at The Admiral, where we used to. That place is the roach hotel.

Was the roach hotel, I though it was condemned right after Eagle left there. And how can you complain about 2 brand new hotels, with allot of restaurant options nearby. I guess you can go to GoJet and then you can pick your hotel!

What is near by the normal hotel?? A taco place? I do share on the line how I feel, and tell people to try and get the park inn when things are busy. The park inn has like 6 good places to eat that are cheap, a walmart, and a van that does not jerk you around.

Its not about how bad it has been, or could be, its about what its like now. The hotel management treats everyone crummy at the normal hotel, esp in regards to the van. The van frequently dropped you off places to get food then took an hour to pick you back up. It stinks, you just need to go somewhere that treats you much better to have a comparison. I don't doubt that admiral was much worst. However there are much much better options in the area.

I still don't get this. I have been on the line, and captains tell me how terrible the admiral was, but also dont really like the hotel we use now. Some have also been in the Park this year and wish it was our hotel, because it is much better. Park has free hot breakfast buffet, with bacon, eggs, home fries etc. One free drink each night, and a managers night one night a week with free dinner and open bar a few hours. And a shuttle that takes you places without a hard time or hour long wait to be pick up. Best of all they take you to the AIRPORT!! Imagine that!! A hotel full a pilots that takes you to the AIRPORT!!

I got my car broke into and the gas station across the street got robbed while staying at the admiral. There was no breakfeast and there was a bar downstairs that had a cougars night, which only seemed to bring in hookers... yea, it was worse.

Dude!! A hotel with hookers!! IT was worst???

JK, but seriously, I did NOT say the admiral was better, it def was worst. My point was compared to the park inn, the hotel we use still blows.

hey everybody. just a couple of quick questions.

1. any idea as to how the hiring plan at eagle looks for 2012?
2. if juniors bases are jfk and ord, then how long can new hires plan on being on reserve?
3. how much do reserves fly on average every month? if you want to fly more to make some more money, are you able to do that and have the option to do so?
4. how much extra would you be able to make in the above case to help your take home pay?
5. is commuting an options at those 2 bases? if so, then would I still need a crashpad? or if i make the move, then is a one bedroom apt affordable at the existing pay?
6. my chances with having 1000tt and 700 multi all 121 flying ATR 42?

thanks a lot. appreciate the help!

Last I heard, 700+ in 2012 due to flowthroughs.

Can't answer that for certain, but I'd say ORD would maybe about 6mos. depending on the AA flowthrough movement. I think JFK is pretty stagnant, but with AA flowthroughs going through, it may end up being the same amount of time. Maybe the jet guys can shed more light on this.

On the ATR I flew 12hrs one month. Opposite on the EMJ from what I understand. You can pick up open time on days off and as much as you want as long as you keep to 8 hard days off.
4. how much extra would you be able to make in the above case to help your take home pay?
Depends how much OT you pick up. I usually pick up 10-15hrs OT a month on the ATR.
5. is commuting an options at those 2 bases? if so, then would I still need a crashpad? or if i make the move, then is a one bedroom apt affordable at the existing pay?
Where are you commuting from? ORD is probably an easier commute and has a plethora of crashpads. As far as the ORD apt question, I believe someone asked that previously in this thread.
6. my chances with having 1000tt and 700 multi all 121 flying ATR 42?
I'd say pretty good as long as you do well on the interview. A lot of people don't realize that the sim is graded per ATP P.T.S. I had a friend sent home after the sim for not meeting the standards. And it's in a baron frasca sim.
thanks a lot. appreciate the help!

Just curious, who are you flying ATR-42s for now? A FedEx feeder?

hey.. thanks for all the feedback.

well I'm flying the 42 for an international carrier abroad and am considering of making the move to the U.S and flying for the regionals since I have all my family in the U.S and I completed all my training there as well. thats why I'm asking all the questions I am to make my decision whether it would be a wise one or not and if I'd be able to support myself on the pay.

so what would be the most junior base right now then for the jets? and again, how long are new hires taking to get off reserve? whats the doh approximately of a new hire who just got off reserve and is now holding a line at the most junior base.

how much difference can it make in pay if I do take up say about 15 hours over time? is it possible to do 85-90 hrs a month on reserve or when holding a line? what would that make my take home pay first year?

thanks
