Thank you. Do I dare ask a few more questions?

1) It appears that there are two classes a month. Is this correct? And is it consistent that there about 20 to a class? Are the class dates consistent with a particular day(s) of the month they start?

2) And it looks like that when you are asked about a class date that you will be given at least three weeks notice? Is this right?

I apologize if these have been answered but I did spend a couple hours trying to get specific answers and must have missed those points with the over 3000 posts I had to go through. Whew!

Thank you for your patience.
Classes start every other monday. As for size, they range from 20s to mid/upper 30s....

As far as the class date, its when they have an opening and you can fill it. Do NOT try to push it back more than 2 classes out as they will likely pull your offer and make you interview all over again....

Thank you! And I don't blame them. Starting off with questionable loyalty is not something I would want to hire if I were them.

Hi guys,

I just found this forum and what a great thread for Eagle life! I have just spent the past couple hours reading much of it.

I have two questions that may have been answered but I did not see them addressed.

1) When you are offered a class after passing the interview process, can you pass on classes for a couple months these days?

2) In order for you to be on the seniority list, does that occur on the first day of class or when you complete training. I ask this about the Oct 11th cutoff for pilots being on the seniority list to maybe someday get to mainline.

Thanks for your responses!
Both have been answered within the past month or so.... Perhaps actually reading the thread as opposed to simply claiming to have done do might be better.

I must admit I started flying through the threads towards the end so my patience was just not quite enough in looking for these answers.

I guess I need to apologize to you? Didn't mean to put you out?

I really don't know where to go with your angst.

No apologies in order. Learning to be honest up front would serve you well prior to interviewing. They won't accept inaccurate information and will send you home.

If you were wanting the most recent info of how base selection, class selection and whatever the current practice is.... Why wouldn't you start reading from back to front? A little logic goes a long way.

Not a big deal, nobody really cares anyway. It just gets old hearing "I've searched through the thread but......" and then hearing the same questions once a month.

I am being completely honest sir. I put in hours of research and learned much but not those things I was curious about. Why not take the time and be a good man trusting my questions are good ones to me instead of essentially falsely accusing me of being dishonest. It would take less effort. I didn't realize I was studying for a test.

It may be old hearing the same old questions, but it doesn't invalidate them none the less.

C'mon, man. Did you really have to be the forum cop? Really? I had to roll my eyes at your response to this guy. Give him a break! the thread is HUGE and most people will have little patience trying to wade through 3470+ posts to find the few that may answer their question. This is why he asked.

Answer the damn question or ignore it. Simple.

Don't worry about it...ask what ever you want.

Keep in mind class dates are not assigned until after the review board. This can take some time depending on your paperwork.
As for some of the cranky buggers on here, just leave em be and ask away. The majority of us don't mind answering.
Classes start every other Monday. The last one was August 29th. That only leaves 3 more classes before 10/11. Class sizes are up and down depending on how many captains are in training too. My class was fairly small and we were all paired with a captain during sim.

To answer your question, you can defer up to one class per your conditional offer. Seniority starts on day one of class. As ERF said ask away don't let Masons ego get to you, he's always been that way!
