Hey, I'm looking to apply at the end of this month. I have 1500 total and 50 multi.

Was wondering if the Riddle CRJ course, which I took a couple years back, would count towards the airline transition course that is a requirement if you don't have then 100 multi.

Apply NOW!!!! keep updating ur app every week.

Lateral movement??? Starting in First Year payment again?? Be at the bottom of the seniority list again?? Not good!

Just saying moving should be vertical, not lateral.
Why would bidding the ATR be the best option for QOL?

Flywife - for your husband to get MIA, right now the ERJ is probably the best bet from what I have seen as far as newer guys getting base transfers. Its not too hard to transfer bases, but it may take him a few months for MIA. If nothing else have him take Dallas and put in a base transfer request at the first opportunity. Many new guys are getting their transfers completed before finishing training.
Ok I see, so the other guy who said to bid ATR for QOL meant that right now, there aren't any openings for ERJ/MIA, so if you really want MiA for QOL, you need to bid ATR. However, if you are bent on the ERJ, you would want to bid a different base and then put in for a transfer.

Thanks for your comments. At his interview, they told my husband that they are phasing out the ATR because they are reaching their shelf life. So if he picked ERJ, would he be able to be based in ORD? Or do they only fly CRJs?

My guess would be no. They are being specific about the atp class. If you don't have it they are going to pay for it anyways. You never know though. They may accept it, but if not you get another one for free. Either way its win win.

ATR seatlocks are going to the EMJ or CRJ, so it will get a line faster. And since he's married it might be better. Payment is the same first year...

I disagree here. I'm on the ATR and most likely won't be off reserve for a good 8-12 months.

Right now Feb 11 hires EMJ MIA hold lines and should continue to do so, fairly good lines too by years end.

Right now Feb 11 hire MIA ATR is on RSV.

If they close SJU or shrink it like I think they are about to do, it might suck even more to be MIA ATR.

My logic is the union calls about the spin off, that say the ATR is up to be parked. Also a huge chunk of our FA in JFK commute from SJU and say the writing on the wall says/shows SJU is closing up. If SJU closes both NY but mostly MIA will feel it. With all the growth right now, it must be bad for somewhere to feel like it is feeling pressure.

But I agree w you, they could feel it anywhere, but also anyone with a life/family might try and avoid spending 2 months in DFW for a new plane.
