A lot of folks would love to be in that STUCK in SJU on ATR situation, if given a chance.

Exactly, It depends on the person. If they are able and willing, then they may see it differently. If you are going off of what someone else said, you should consider the circumstances that are affecting their viewpoint. (having a family or other relatives that they want to live near or not being able to move to san juan for whatever reason)

I'm all for SJU. Time permitting I'll get a part time job at the Bacardi factory to help pay some bills.

I am ALL about some SJU! Hubs doesn't want to fly a turbo prop and worries about commuting, but I'm thinking of non-rev'ing to SJU here and there when possible-beaches, waves, awesome! And what's the big deal with flying a turbo prop anyhow?? It's still bigger than a CIRRUS!!!!

Idk, everyone on here will give you 1000 reasons, most will say shiny jet syndrome. Only reason I was glad to avoid it was because I was already scared enough of the possibility of not making it through airline training and putting a major handicap on my career. The jet is said to be easier than the ATR, so that was my logic, but I was just happy to get the job, and would have taken anything.

It clearly worked so far as I made it through training, which guys fail out, I saw it on the jet, and turbo prop. So when I am not on probation, I will gladly put it as my displacement bid, and someday upgrade bid. I also have about 300 hours single pilot PIC in a Kingair A90 and some other time in a Twin Otter, so I never got any, but the ATR is an entirely different monster. How much turbo prop time do you have, never knew you flew one out in socal?

Main reason IMHO is too many other things in their life and not focused on their new job training, it is not just a full time job while in training, its a full time life, and if you cant do that you most likely wont make it.

However in my class I have no idea about the details of the individuals who did not make it.

But you did not answer how much turbo prop time you got, since you were never on the ATR?
