Well I guess it depends how you look at senior, the most JUNIOR FO in LGA on the EMJ is an 08 hire. That is out of almost 70 people!

I didn't get a response to my question a while back, so I'll ask again. Please respond if you know.

I saw that Eagle has CRJ instructor positions open. What is the pay for a CRJ ground instructor there? Is there opportunity for advancement? Are you put on the seniority list or are you considered management?

I do not know the pay scale, but it is not great. You are hired as a contractor. The reason I say this is because our ground school instructors are not employed by American Eagle. They are not on the pilots seniority list.
Now we do have ground instructors that are check airman that are Eagle pilots. Their primary job is ground school instruction, but they also work the sim too. Your problem is that you will have to get hired, bottom of the seniority list, then apply to the schoolhouse. Which is a good gig if you like that kind of work.
Caveat, I am a line pilot, not school house guy. I am on the outside looking in, but I think my info is fairly accurate.

If you're talking about sim instructors that's for in house pilots. If there's a ground school instructor position you may start at about 40k and could get 50-55 if you negotiate it well. That pay is negotiated behind closed doors one on one.

Jason with the ATR program was never an Eagle pilot. Straight hire into the ground instructor role. We have another ground school instructor that I have not ran across. I am told he is a aircraft mechanic by trade. We do have former Eagle pilots that are ground school instructors, but they are no longer on the list.
As I said, we do have check airman that serve as ground school instructors. But if you are only a ground school instructor, your are not on Eagle's seniority list. The ground school instructors have their own union; I remember talking with MS (emj instructor) and he sounded as if he was not employed directly by AMR.

Hmm, good to know, FYI I just saw MS and he was going on vacation on AA for 2 weeks, so I would assume he has bennies, but maybe not.

Like I said, I do not have first hand knowledge of their situation. It is what I have deduce from my interaction with the instructors. I very well could be wrong. But I get a strong vibe that a lot of ground instructors are not happy.

Ya true, all the sim instructors seem to be AE guys who fly the line though, and I am not at all disagreeing with you.
