5 guys below you??? Really, what about that 5 guys are free at the same time, guess who's going to be in RR 1 at 5:30am???
Plus from security to D60 or Crew lounge is a long walk...been there, done that.
Remember flow plan is current, as vacancy bids goes out it's going to change...for starters in that flow plan you're looking there are about 25 guys above me (I'm a Nov 2010 hire) moving to MFE. Plus there will be more guys moving all year from MFA to MFE that got the ATR last year and still seat locked.
Just don't keep your expectations too high, it will help you a lot in this industry. Study hard...we need pilots! So bring your friends along...

Just a couple of quick questions for you guys. thanks.!
1. What are AE's CRJ700 domiciles? I heard JFK and ORD, but are there any others? which one is the best bet in terms of being the junior base that can be expected for new hires and would be the best in terms of getting off reserve soon.
2. has AE taken delivery of all CRJ700's that were ordered or are some of them yet to be delievered?
3. Is most of this hiring being done for attrition or because of induction of these RJ's or a combination of the two equally?

2 Yes, 546 is on the line. It is the 47th and last CRJ. It smells like a new car.
3, I'd say very little hiring is due to the CRJs. We parked a lot of 135s. The majority is due to attrition. Over 200 captains have gone to AA this year, and many others are moving on to other places.
I've found another way to max out the credit time. A lot of 2 leg two days have been popping up. The guys who bid two days are auto TTOTing their trip for the open trip. Then they pick up their old trip minus the legs to and from the overnight and do 4 to 8 legs of their original trip at 150%.

thanks shfo.
so what would be the most juinor base right now for new hires and what a/c would they most likely bid into? how is dfw looking? and are the 135's, 140's and 145's dependent on which base you get or doesnt matter? same rating?
I ask this with regards to reserve. Which base would be most beneficial to get off reserve soon? thanks

airborn,
if you go CRJ go with ORD and see if they open a new base somewhere else later, because LGA is so up in the air. the 135/140/145 are same in regard to base, your just considered as being on the 145. DFW and ORD are seeing good movement because of the hiring. MIA is a long shot based on the convo above. LAX is senior. LGA right now is just as horrible as LAX when it comes to being on the bottom, and JFK is moving because it is so small, only 32 emj fos, so 2 guys a month is like 25 guys a month in ord or dfw, so it is not far behind them as of now.

One more thing.. long term.. is CRJ a better bet or the ERJ?

Don't bid a plane...bid QOL. The CRJ/ERJ at Eagle pay the same. QOL is much better on the ERJ than CRJ. I've been on the CRJ for almost 4 years ( I had a choice between DFW CRJ and DFW CRJ (not a typo) when I got hired). I've been trying to get off the CRJ for 3 years. Finally being displaced to the ERJ....I can't wait.
