What he did after the separation from PDT got some folks in trouble in SBY. He flat out lied to scam the company on his way out. That guy acted like a first class anus from Indoc onward.

The capt got suspended over it.
No, he didn't. He didn't get out of it completely unscathed, but everyone involved agreed that the FO was slick enough to do it outside the CA's knowledge. FO testimony helped the CA's cause, too. A stand up action from such a scumbag, for sure.

BTW, that kid is up to his lower lip in FAA sewage and Cohen's going waterskiing in it.

Lemme tell ya, he pulled off another scam within an hour of your last seeing him. If I were he, I'd be crying too- knowing I'd never fly again.

It sure is hard to defend the Captain who broke the rules. I mean, he broke the rules. I'm not saying I've never broken a rule, but he got busted. Maybe if they used actual weights, they would've found out that they were actually under limits. But maybe if they used actual weights they would've found out that they were 700 lbs. over weight. If you follow the rules then you are covered for that margin of inaccuracy. If you don't, then you are gambling.

That said, the FO was willing to go for the flight, so he proved that he didn't feel unsafe by his actions. I'm not buying that he found out later either.

Side note: wasn't it funny how the Captain just crossed out the FO's math, and wrote in the exact number that met limitations? He didn't even try to cover it up well. He could have at least wrote in some half weights, put a few bags in the cabin, or changed the takeoff fuel, ya know? Not very good CYA!

It was not the exact number. Each runway has a max weight assigned to it for takeoff and the max default weight is 30,000 on the release. What the CA did was remove the weight limit given for that runway on the release and put the default weight of 30,000 max back in, as it is for about 99% of the flights we fly. Now with 30,000 back in they are only limited by the max takeoff weight of 29,000, not the true max weight for the runway which is what the FO had in there before the CA scratched it out.

I agree with you that if you are going to cheat, find a half weight or 2.

Got it. Maybe these guys were having such a hard time getting along that they just couldn't squeeze out one more word to each other! Ha!
