They came to SkyWest Inc. Inc then went to ASA. I think the reason might be that it COULD be easier to exploit the fo's over there. I mean if they offerred an fo who is furloughed a job, a line, and a 10% increase in pay, they will probably take it.

Let's see here, the duty time "labor abuse" I suffered through in Asia for domestic flights went something like this:
5 legs max a day, doesn't matter if they were 5 - 30 minute flights.
8 hour flight time, if it goes over you get twice the required rest (8.1 flt time = 16.2 hours rest)
11 hour duty day - If it went went over 11 (15 max) hours 24 hours comp rest.
Standard rest, I believe was 9 hours - transit not included in rest.
The usual 30 in 7 applied.
They also had some extra rest and scheduling restrictions for crews flying the backside 0000-0500.
For FA's, I think it was different.

Well, if you were furloughed and someone offered you a job, what would your reaction be? If I were furloughed I would jump at whatever job would best pay my bills. If that was Saigon, then so be it. Your sarcasm suggests you would choose to pass an opportunity by and let your family go without. Maybe I am reading too much into your post. What woulod you do if this was the best you could find?

Any furloughed ASA pilot would have been at first or second year pay, correct? Just for the record, how much is that? $23/hr x 75 guarantee equals $1725/mo., or $2625/mo. at $35/hr.
Sickening. Any reason why these same pilots can't apply for an expat job that pays real money? Or why this Vietnamese outfit can't use "real" contract pilots?
Oh, I know the answer to the latter. Exploitation.

I actually wasn't being sarcastic at all. Sorry. I was simply pointing out that Inc is using this perceived weakness to get the pilots at a deal.
As far as what I would do IF I were furloughed, I don't know. If i were single then I would do it if it paid like it should. If I had a family I almost certainly wouldn't, unless I had ABSOLUTELY no other choice. I don't think the family would like it.
