With extremely minor attrition, some expected new Saab Block hours out of IAD this April, and ramping up for the next 15 Q400's we are obviously doing some upgrading. Currently we are projecting 44 upgrades in 2010 and 42 upgrades in 2011. With a total of 86 upgades this should upgade most of our 07' hires and possibly go into some of our early 08' hires. After that it's completely dependant upon more Block hours/Contracts/Aircraft. In other words, to be fair, I can't give you good estimate of time to upgrade. Please keep in mind this is the airlines so things can and probably will change as time goes on. If you are honestly looking at becoming a part of Colgan please plan accordingly and be ready for the long haul. The days of 10 month upgrades are long gone around here. Good luck!

????????? Pretty judgemental and choosy for someone who appears to not have a job. Yeah they have an autopilot, but since they don't have a magenta line to follow, you might crap your pants in fear....Better brush up on your ADF skills if you want to pass a 340 checkride Apparently an aircraft that still requires airmanship is below you...

Hahahahaha neither judgmental nor choosy... after watching a documentary on the Buffalo crash makes me wonder how anyone in their own right mind would want to work in those working conditions. Luckily I have been fortunate enough to be able to avoid those working conditions. Thank you for the answers to my simple questions.

Next time you reply to a post you should be a little more professional and not act like a typical disgruntled airline pilot.

Guessing fleet average is about 35-40,000 hours and a few more cycles. They are NOT new. They show their age probably as well an MD-80 or 90. And like the Mad Dogs, the Saabs were built in Foundries, not Factories.

If you are expecting bright, shinny, perfect, new airplanes, the Saab isn't it..... but then neither are 98.9% of all the other planes flying.
