That's a tab on a good 4 day trip! Come on!

Don't step over dollars to save a nickle..

First, take a deep breath. BREATH... then reread my post. I said that you shouldn't (possibly) waste money on Frasca time if it is not required. I don't know the background to every single person that applies at OO, but my understanding (again) is that if the applicant has multi-crew, turbojet time (like they came from Mesa flying the CRJ, 'cuz that was the real reason for it), then they wouldn't have to fly the Frasca.

OBVIOUSLY ASK !!!

Not a myth, and neither are the stories about SFO...we almost got kicked of that place.

I agree that the frasca training is a good idea, unless you happen to be current (and IMC proficient) in a steam gauge light twin, King Air, or similar.

Pshhh, it would be absurd to over-prepare for an interview. It's always been my philosophy to always do the bare minimum....just enough to get you hired, nothing more. Nobody get's bonus points for the best sim flight and everyone starts with the same pay....come on now. /end sarcasm.

Talked to one of the sim instructors. He said that they were thinking of running 'a' class this fall. However, he thought it would be relatively small like 10 people.

I can tell you now that if they run new hire RJ classes while there are still bro fos wanting to transfer there will be a mass uprising of Bro fos and some seriously low buzzing of uncle jerry's house in sgu. And for the post stating that in 2 years an fo at sw makes 45k I can assure you that is untrue if said fo is stuck on the bro. I made 17k first year 23 second and will make 26 this year. livin the nightmare,

If it is true, how many UAL furloughees would actually take a job at the bottom with Skywest?
This is just my opinion: Obviously with the ASA furloughs being recalled there is one less layer the poolies have to wait for. SkyWest is obligated to "offer" UAL furloughs spots at SkyWest. They do not have to wait for acceptance. There is a big difference there. Next the climate is VERY different than the last time United pilots were offered jobs at SkyWest. Five years ago our growth was so fast and big that furloughed United pilots were able to jump over senior SkyWest pilots because they had the minimum qualifications to upgrade (2500 TT, 1000 crew environment/121 experience). That will not be the case this time around. Virtually every First Officer at SkyWest can now upgrade if that opportunity opens up, so a United pilot that accepts the SkyWest offer will now sit several years at the bottom of a list and have to wait their turn to upgrade. I would assume that from that fact alone, not too many United furloughs will take the SkyWest offer. I think that is good news for the poolies and qualified pilots looking for their first opportunity.

Again, this is my own opinion.

Newty,

I am sure all CRJ classes will be handled the same way the last classes were ran in the spring. You will get your shot at the jet before anyone junior to you (including new hires). Your days of low paying misery may be nearing an end. Your life on reserve however.....!

So assuming they run a class or two in the Fall, it will likely be for the Bro. What are the current Bro junior bases?

FWIW the sim guy also said that only the california system is making money for the Bro so shuttering SLC for the bro may still be on the table.

Maybe they'll displace you into the jet newty?
