Is this a joke? $100 to $300 bucks to get prepped and feel more confident at an airline interview? In a 2 years this guys is going to be at $45k/year fo pay.. and your advice is to consider not getting the sim time?
That's a tab on a good 4 day trip! Come on!
Don't step over dollars to save a nickle..

First, take a deep breath. BREATH... then reread my post. I said that you shouldn't (possibly) waste money on Frasca time if it is not required. I don't know the background to every single person that applies at OO, but my understanding (again) is that if the applicant has multi-crew, turbojet time (like they came from Mesa flying the CRJ, 'cuz that was the real reason for it), then they wouldn't have to fly the Frasca.
OBVIOUSLY ASK !!!

I agree that the frasca training is a good idea, unless you happen to be current (and IMC proficient) in a steam gauge light twin, King Air, or similar.

As you may or may not know, the typical footprint of new hire training events start with an EMB class and then followed by any necessary CRJ classes. Each of you were “ear-marked” for a particular aircraft type when you were interviewed. We assessed each individual and attempted to place you in the aircraft that we felt would promote the most success for you and for SkyWest. For now, that “re-assessment” will be accomplished with this correspondence.

To revive an older topic: It was being said a few months ago that Skywest will hire ASA and UAL furloughees before they start taking from the SKYW hiring pool. Now that ASA has recalled everyone, that's not an issue. But has that UAL deal been confirmed, or is it a rumor? If it is true, how many UAL furloughees would actually take a job at the bottom with Skywest?
Again, this is my own opinion.
Newty,
I am sure all CRJ classes will be handled the same way the last classes were ran in the spring. You will get your shot at the jet before anyone junior to you (including new hires). Your days of low paying misery may be nearing an end. Your life on reserve however.....!

I can tell you now that if they run new hire RJ classes while there are still bro fos wanting to transfer there will be a mass uprising of Bro fos and some seriously low buzzing of uncle jerry's house in sgu. And for the post stating that in 2 years an fo at sw makes 45k I can assure you that is untrue if said fo is stuck on the bro. I made 17k first year 23 second and will make 26 this year. livin the nightmare,
Hahaha "Living the nightmare". So stealing that one Newty!
