What? My comprehension is running a little slow this morning.

From where I sit, I'm on the SkyWest side of the fence, and that's where I'd rather be. Not on the ASA side, nor on some combined list.

I doubt they'll be a windfall of flying for either company.

Absolutely not happening. Didn't happen with Comair, ASA, or Expressjet either. We've had other carriers out here for years.

Really? So there is a 0% chance that United will go bankrupt and possibly cancel all of your flying. If they go Chapter 7 all your flying is gone, regardless.

Skywest airlines flies 160 aircraft for United and ASA only flies 14 aircraft for United.

You better believe that could happen. I would be very concerned about not having one list, because I can guarantee you the ASA pilots will not help you once you get the shaft.

What about before we get the shaft? Will they help us right now? Hey ASA, You wanna give us Skywasters some of your flying? How bout being stapled to the bottom of our list? That would help us. Maybe you could all just quit and we can have all of your flying that would also help us. Sorry Winglets, I don't see the fine folks at ASA jumping up to help us right now before we get the "Shaft". We are all Inc. you know, they really should help us out and just be stapled or give us their flying because I know that would help me. Oh wait, you don't want it to work in that direction, skywest helping asa ie. Me taking a hit for them seems to be the only way it works for you.

I'm not following you at all here.

ASA and Skywest merging their lists will help both groups equally.

Actually, the ASA pilots have already helped Skywest pilots in such a scenrio. The ASA pilots used their negotiating capital to gain language in their scope clause that allows Skywest pilots to transfer over with aircraft with seniority and longevity if such a scenario would to happen.

What is wrong with some of you people. Ok lets look at some fact here ok?

1. Skywest has never furloughed, and will do anything in their power not to.
2. There is no eminent demise of UAL, BTW I think ASA has some soon to be pilots whose jobs are tied to future UAL flying?
3. There is no "one list", never been talked about, would not benefit Inc., Skywest pilots for the most part dont want anything to do with "one list"
4. Yes ASA is owned by the same corporation, but is and will remain a completely separate airline.

Why do some people think that because a company bought a airline that the seniority lists should be combined? That is what happens in a merger, this in no way what soever in anyway is a merger. ASA remains a separate company that can be sold or dismantled at anytime.

Correction - Skywest Inc did furlough - and the threat of furlough was a real possibility this summer for Skywest Airline pilots. ASA had never furloughed until they were brought under the Skywest Inc umbrella. Why do you think Skywest Inc would furlough out of ASA and run short staffed but not Skywest when they could have?

2. There is no eminent demise of UAL, BTW I think ASA has some soon to be pilots whose jobs are tied to future UAL flying?
Seems this was brought up to point out how tied to United's fortunes (good or ill) Skywest Inc is. Delta's demise in not likely eminent either, however if Delta sinks, ASA will also. It works both ways and I don't think anyone was hoping for United or Delta to fail here.

3. There is no "one list", never been talked about, would not benefit Inc., Skywest pilots for the most part dont want anything to do with "one list"
Correct, there is not a list, but there should be - both sides would benefit from a merged list. For example, how happy is the Skywest pilot group with the new health care plan? Also, at some point the Skywest pilot group will be told to take some other concession or lose out on growth like ASA is being told with PBS.

4. Yes ASA is owned by the same corporation, but is and will remain a completely separate airline.

There's the real kicker! Is this what you actually want, for ASA to be dismantled so Skywest can grow? I guess it's tough to see the need for a united pilot group when your side is receiving the benefits of the whipsaw game, but try to place yourself in the other man's shoes.

BTW, what do you think would happen to the Frontier and Midwest pilot groups if Republic's multiple airlines did not have one list and require all airlines purchased to be under the same list?

To you and rickair, I appreciate the feedback and like I have said it was being a rumor, as I have not seen it myself. I am glad to know that it is just a rumor that some idiot prolly made up but I would rather throw the question out there and get some real feedback. You guys take it easy and if you ever need a ride home just let me know.
