I currently work at Colgan. I am upset with the poor pay and the poor schedules. Some say we are bottom feeders, that may be true but that goes for every regional pilot out there then. We all work for less than we are worth. At least we are trying to fix our situation. Instead of hating us for taking the flying that the majors are giving away (something as pilots we don't even have control of). We should be working together as an entire pilot group. It doesn't matter what airline any of us work for we are all in the same boat!

Wow, who called you a scab?
That said, pilots that scab say they just want jobs and someone else will fly it, so I guess I will just do it anyways.
I don't think you really understand how bad it will be for you if you go to Colgan. They pay is terrible the first year and not that good for the second year. Do you understand that you will qualify for food stamps?
Do the Colgan pilots a favor and withdraw your app, it will greatly help them obtain a better contract. Going there will only hurt their chances.

The reason I got furloughed was because of reduction in flying and routes being handed to other regionals with bigger aircraft and a lower cost pilot group (like Colgan). Why do you think Colgan is growing or hasn't furloughed? Because you are replacing mainline flying and undercutting other regionals with cheaper labor!! Congrast on having a job, you must be so happy. I am enjoying my furlough, because I can sit at home knowing that I make more money in unemployment than you flying around in your 70 some seat turboprop.

This bit of advice works like a charm just like telling people to not pump gas at CITGO because of Hugo Chavez said some dumb comments about America. As soon as they drop the price the people start pumping gas no matter what. Pilots are going to apply to colgan anyways for whatever reasons they have. Its unfortunate but some pilots WILL work for less when they themselves get backed into a corner.

It does make a difference. Yes they may choose to go to Colgan, but all of us should be discouraging them from doing so.
Doesn't matter. I may even work for Colgan, but I'm still going to tell people not to go there.
I will say it again, I have nothing against the Colgan pilots, I just think we (Colgan and all other pilots a like) should all be discouraging everyone from going there.

If this is supposed to be some shot at unemployed guys...you do realize that unemployment only lasts a few months (maybe more depending on your State and situation). It is an insurance that your previous employer pays into (via payroll tax). It is not endless welfare...all these guys still need to find a job before their benefit runs out.
