Well so much for the thread being informative, the down hill slide begins

Is Colgan so great that you're trying to work elsewhere? I see by looking at your other posts that after 2 years at Colgan just a week ago you were looking to leave for Part 135 freight:

The only hope for Colgan pilots to ever get a decent contract and better pay is for threads like these to not be incorrectly informative about Colgan being a great place and not helpful to people in getting a job at Colgan. The only informative part here should be the terrible pay and working conditions there.

If pilots would not take jobs at Colgan, Colgan pilots would get better pay. If I worked at Colgan, I would discourage everyone from going there.

That's actually a very good point.

Actually I was referring to the bashing and name calling sir! I agree the thread needs to be informative however you guys are way off of thread topic. You don't know what you would do if you worked at colgan beause of the simple fact that you don't, a few of my friends are senior captains and while they don't like their current situation they are working to improve it.

Things don't happen overnight in aviation so give the brothers and sisters at colgan a chance to make things right before you start passing judgement.

You do realize that Colgan had nothing to do with that growth don't you?
That growth is because of the Pinnacle pilots and management undecutting scope with them.

Exactly. Colgan has lost Pinnacle more money than it cost to buy them. Had it not been for Pinnacle, not only would Colgan not be growing, but they most likely would not have even survived the huge run up in oil prices... the airline wouldn't be around today.

Those Q400s were bought by Pinnacle pilots' extremely subpar compensation, abuse, and stalled contract negotiations. Colgan was simply a cheap certificate to put them on.

This is not an attitude we need to have at Colgan. People on here will always talk crap about Colgan, don't let it get under you skin.

Lets remember that furloughed pilots at another airline could easily be you one day and no pilot should waive the fact of being furloughed in their face, no matter how much of a jerk they may come off as being.

What concerns me the most is not that fact you take enjoyment in teasing people about being furloughed but the line in bold above. Thankfully our MEC does not share the same view.

Having been here a few years the stuff you are seeing about Colgan is all true both good and bad (was there any good?)

It has all been factual. If anyone wants a rundown on what its like here just shoot me a PM or any of the other CJC guys and we will be glad to give you the truth about our experiences. They will all vary greatly though whether you are talking to someone who has lived in base since day one, someone who upgraded in 10 months or someone that was hired at the end of the last wave and has two full years of reserve while commuting from the west coast.

If given the choice between most any other regional would I come here...no. With that being said there currently is no choice so it leaves you the option of riding out the storm or applying here to use this place for a few (literally) dollars and some time in the logbook and currency until the next wave happens.

Lets try to keep this as an informative thread before it gets closed (no, I wont close it but someone else likely will.) If you have Colgan questions good, bad or indifferent just ask it regarding current hiring and conditions and they can get answered truthfully.
