The questions they asked in the interview were really good questions. They're not the cheesecake questions that most places have asked in the past. The Sim is a blast, its a 1900D and a lot of fun. Everyone there was very nice. Chuck and his staff did a really good job.
Sounds good, I'm a Comair refugee as well... if you have the ATP written passed do you still have to take the Colgan written test?

Yea, I took the test a week before and still had to take it. There were only about 5 questions that did not come from the ATP book and they were easy.

That's a good point. I'm just so used to us having such high car insurance rates I figured health insurance would be the same way. I'm paying $200 a month for my car insurance, with NO accidents or tickets. Jeez.
Yeah, when you're a young buck with a nice car. That's how much my my car insurance cost when I was 19 with a new car. Now same car and 31 years old, costs 25 per month. Hang in there young sappling...Take care of the car you got, you might keep it alot longer than you think, cosidering your an underpaid pilot.

If you have over 100 and an internal rec you will be fine. The lowest I heard was 105 and there were some with over 500.

You are probably referencing my post there, but you are right! It is my decision, and I have not decided to apply at Colgan for various reason. For one, I do not want to commute or move from the West coast to IAD or some other crap outstation for the pay and work rules offered. It ain't worth it! You mentioned seniority is everything and everyone wants to get to the top. You are right, but that's how your company got stuck with crap wages. Everyone went to Colgan, chasing the quick upgrade time and just said I'll put up with the BS and low pay and move on. But guess what? That's no longer the case. I do truly hope that Colgan will get a contract and payrates that they deserve, but unfortunately I don't see it happening anytime soon after watching PNCL management for the past few years...

Also, one thing I've learned is to never pick an airline based on upgrade time and bases! Upgrade times can change in a heartbeat and bases can come and go.

Look over weather, 121 regs and instrument stuff from the ATP, for the most part but don't leave anything out (performance calculations can still be left out I guess). For all we know the questions could very well change. As I understand it, 80% to pass, no exceptions. Interview was very straight forward, Jepps, read weather printouts, a system or two on the current twin you fly and some HR questions. The sim was fun, not looking for you to be perfect but have a good scan, basic IFR knowledge and trainability. The Captain we had in the sim was a great guy. I was one of the first two done yesterday and neither myself or my sim partner was told a solid "yes" or "no" but he did mention having to do background checks and paperwork on their side so maybe it's good news if they're going to do all that. Good luck to anyone who interviewed, or gets the call to do so soon.

Did you have Paul? I didnt get any brief the approach or questions on my twin. I studied my a$$ off for those question then got some FAR 121 questions because I had my ATP written done and a lot of scenario based questions on lost comm and passenger stuff. I was in the 2nd sim group to go...Were you the guy from Pitt
