I sincerely hope you're kidding...because you CAN'T be that naive.

Let's "throw away" an entire fleet of economical, serviceable airframes (and the piloting/FA/mx/support jobs that go with them) because of a cracked bracket.

Yeah, that's the ticket...

We all know that the media isn't going to pay attention to good aviation news anyway...so we will have to say it here. Good job, guys!

Yes, I have done it twice in less than 2 years in the sim. Thats twice in 3 sim rides. EMJ though, not ATR. It wasnt complete jam, it was 1 side and able to uncouple sides. Wish this stuff made it in the news! But no, its a regional and no one died = news doesnt bite. Congrats crew.

Actually, that is as it should be: our job is to fix problems associated with flying a plane. Each time we turn an emergency into non event we have succeeded.

Bravo Zulu to the crew! Outstanding job!

Regional pilots are dangerous, that's the prevailing thought these days. This is partly to be blamed on the super pilots at the majors who with their space shuttle type ratings and lunar landing endorsements think they are the only ones with real experience and ability. Regionals with sub par training obviously don't help either. Just my two cents.
