RAH Midwest taking over CVG when Delta leaves
I don't have proof on this, I was just grabbing some coffee with a ground crewman in CVG. He didn't go into much detail but just said what he knew about some talks of Midwest establishing a hub in there after Delta leaves but continuing their codeshare agreement. He said that the city really needs the tax revenue when Delta leaves.

Wait, you didn't ask him for the winning lottery #'s and where Jimmy Hoffa is buried. What were you thinking?

Actually what the ground guy said is true, somewhat. Delta isn't pulling out of CVG completly, but they are cutting the hell out of some flights there. Yes they are DE-Hubbing the joint. A lot of former customer service agents there are getting laid off come March, the 11:00 push is history and the rest of you may go to hell, I am going to TEXAS!

I agree. It is completely logical that a high-school educated part time ground agent working for a subsidiary would have a complete window to the long term marketing strategy of the largest airline in the world headquartered several states to the south. I cannot believe I did not see it before.
I think you missed the boat badly on this one. Oh and by the way, Delta Management released a memo to them outling Delta's future plans and they are giving them a buy out offer. I have some good friends that work on the ramp in CVG and they certainly are not people I would call high school educated or not aspiring to improve thier lot in life. Can you cut em a break? Or were you born into that pilot career? Did you skip high school since you were too smart for it? Probaly didn't go to college - they simply handed your diploma to you right?

Does it really matter where the information came from? Aside from that, think what you will about rampers. A lot of those good hard working folks come from all sorts of different backgrounds and use that job to transition to something better. Some are lawyers, real estate agents, proffessors etc. that are using the flight benefits for thier own purposes.

I agree with your post. Some of these CSRs/Rampers are as smart as any pilot. They deserve a living wage and the respect of all pilots.
The people that don't deserve respect are the airline executives. They pay themself millions of dollars in compensation and at the same time cut the jobs/wages/retirement/health benefits of hard working employees to only line their pockets.
