flew 395 hours as cfi/cfii/mei at a pt 141 school in texas. gross 24k, brought home 16k.
Being considered part-time, they only pay for half of insurance.
But, I cant complain. Looking to move on someday, but happy with being home every night (for now)
We've had students that finish their CFI and want a job at our school right away. But, only 1 instructor has been able to move on to another job in the past 2 years... and until another does, there is no hope for current graduates.
DA20-C1's get pretty hot in the summer

22 pages, and I'm starting to think that we are underpaid.
Here's a novel idea: CFI's are unionized. No undercutting or instructing for free. Minimum pay for a cfi: $50,000 yr. Might start seeing NOBODY moving on to a regional.
