In retrospect, if you're talking about the $100/paycheck, that was on for a year. It ended last summer.
Ahh, that sucks. What's $100/paycheck anyway, really? That's pocket change. I remember HR came to us in a meeting and was "genuinely concerned" about our pay complaints. I never heard what happened with that meeting, but later on I found out they really didn't do anything to improve the pay. I guess that'd be right when the regionals stopped sucking up IPs. Funny how that works.

Okay I read this whole thread, looks like if your not a senior Capt. with a major airline you don't make to much. I'm 57 year old and just started flying for hire 2 years ago. I fly Navajo's and C402s single pilot and get paid wheels up to wheels on the runway. I flew 1162 hours last year and made $46,480.00, I worked an average of 5 days a week and was home every night. I am not trying to build time, I have no asperations to move up to larger or faster equipment and am quite happy doing what I'm doing now. Compared to my last job this one is fun. (I owned a auto repair business for 32 years before I sold it.) I feel lucky to have this job after reading this thread. Good luck to all and safe flying.

$31,444.37 including per diem. half 2nd year half 3rd year (majority on reserve). Had about 200 days off for the year mainly due to the ineptness of the company. Think I made more in the stock market than work my final 5 months of the year. Oh yea and flew 492 hours.

I don't have the breakdown, I might get it later depending on how lazy I am

I know Tony had some issues with SKW, but are some of you guys that entrenched with aviation that you would go work in Africa to make a living as a pilot?

Jesus............there is life outside of airplanes, and a hell of a lot more money.

No offense but the most depressing aspect of this whole thread is people being jealous of a guy having to fly a CRJ in Africa for a sad 60k a year.................

Saab,

41k
2nd-3rd year CRJ FO
Reserve all year (blocked around 483 hours)

Living in base and sitting at home on reserve so I can't complain. That is until they decide to close this base, which seems to be happening.

I would still prefer to see everyone convert their hourly wage into something more comparable. Just take the gross amount you made, including bonuses, etc, and divide it by the actual hours flown. That along with how many days off will give us all a better indication in not only pay but also QOL you sacrificed or didn't sacrifice to get that pay.

True, but as I pointed out before, TAFB or duty time would be a better indicator.

Yeah, that would be the more accurate way of doing it rather than seeing how many days off you had. I didn't do the math on mine but my gross divided by actual block hours flown was about $77/hr.
