Could be, I know some of the ASA guys think their being left out but I just don't see any favoritism. The United flying you guys are doing is a classic example. We could have easily done that. I think the main reason we (SkyWest) aren't is because we're out of 50"s and they don't want to go and get a lease on some if the contract with a carrier is to short and will possibly leave us with a bunch of 50's sitting around with nothing to do. SkyWest seems to be done with increased 50 flying. Several people who have heard Chip speak (not me) have said that he is fired up about getting into the new C series. I realize we are getting 2 new 50's but that's not 20.

The ASA pilots have a Memorandum of Understanding with the company, MOU 19, that gives SkyWest pilots on furlough (including pretty much every other airline with pilots on furlough) preferential hiring at ASA, but only if they have a similar agreement on file. I am sure that at the time that was signed, SkyWest made up a similar agreement.

Unfortunately shortly after that MOU was signed ASA no longer hired. But it's there if/when we do.

ASA ALPA has no say over whether or not SkyWest Airlines hires ASA furloughed pilots. If SkyWest doesn't want to, they are not bound by anything. I'm sure, though, phone calls have been made. It's the right thing to do.

????? IC ALL how can you really have any idea what we're talking about from that high horse you're on? Really, this thread has been quite civil considering it's topic. Your constant lectures talking down to us, and your "ready-fire-aim" approach at moderating is getting old. Lose the power trip and don't be so ready to close threads/lecture people. I used to mod over at FI. Yeah, really. It's really not the big deal you make it.

Now go ahead and abuse your power by erasing my post, then ban me for having the audacity to put you in your place.

JP banned in 3...2...1...

"IC ALL" (even his name is extremely arrogant) is out of control. It's a classic case of abuse of power. Kind of like when someone first gets promoted to chief pilot, and their chest puffs out two inches. It's really kind of sad to see.

I don't care what you're talking about JP. And if you really want to get banned, you'll have to try harder....

There was a reported post on how to ignore a user at this thread. The user now knows how it works, which other users might find helpful.

If users have a problem with posts, it's much better for them to ignore the user rather than lash out at the site, violate TOS, and get their posts removed.

"I used to mod over at FI. Yeah, really. It's really not the big deal you make it."

Really? Mod and FI make for sort of a funny quote...

The whole point of the mods, and TOS, at APC, are to keep APC from becoming too much like FI. We are trying to keep APC professional and we have several tools available to the mods to make that happen.

In the end, it's a private site and everyone who posts here checked a box that explain the rules. If the rules aren't agreeable, then feel free to go somewhere else.

FWIW, I said used to mod over at FI. That was back in the day (5-10 years ago) when FI was actually a respectable source of info, i.e. before the current owner turned it into a revenue producing entertainment site. FYI I don't even post there anymore. Thanks for the wise crack anyhow.

I find it funny that you tell me I'll have to try harder to get banned after calling you out. You've already banned me twice for much less. Whatever... keep driving the experienced away and see what you and this site get.

Of course, all of this is way off topic. I relent, back to the ASA vs. SkyWest debate, which was actually interesting before you decided to interject yourself into it, uninvited.

JP, I have never banned you. The way the site works is you get X number of infractions and after that, the software bans you for a time. If I banned you, you'd not be posting here. You have 8 infractions and several more warnings/reminders. I don't make this stuff up. If you care to follow the rules here, you'll find little problems with the site moderation. Perhaps you yourself would do well to use the ignore feature rather than react to users who set you off and risk being banned. It's just a thought, but it's a course of action I'd like to see other users follow rather than find themselves unable to post at APC.
