SkyWest, Inc. is the holding company that wholly owns all SkyWest subsidiaries. Years ago, SkyWest, Inc. owned SkyWest Airlines, Scenic Airlines and an Avis car rental company. With the purchase of ASA in 2005, SkyWest, Inc. took a more active and important role as the owner of both companies. The publicly traded stock is SkyWest, Inc. stock and current SkyWest, Inc. shareholders will now be owners of both SkyWest Airlines and ASA. Operations will remain separate. Separate books are kept for each company, however, the financial public releases and SEC filings will be consolidated reports from the two airlines.

LoL GoJets hired off the street and offered trans states furloughs the same position. Be ignorant bro
So Skywest is hiring off the street while ASA is furloughing is OK?

Dude, you're flying the same equipment for 1 company with 2 seniority lists... Put a lipstick on a turd, it's still a turd.

Bingo!!! Skywest Inc. has already invested training in the ASA F.O.'s. Would make sense for them to use them if ASA isn't. 1 company... 2 airlines... 1 money pot.

Not being a flamer, just wondering where you are going with this.
Like USMC said.. I just thought it would have made more sense. No need to get upset/annoyed! Being a furloughed ASA pilot (which I honestly think ASA is a great company with amazing people that I have worked with.. and miss working with a lot), I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on if this is a good sign for ASA, Skywest, and the industry in general and if anyone thinks because of this there is a possibility they may bring us over there! But honestly I feel that if we all are a part of the same revenue coming in, we maybe should be able to flow through between companies! I did not mean to offend you by any means..

Well, I think they should give preferential hiring to asa guys for sure. And the interview process would only be hr, no tech or sim. They would go to the front of the class, seniority wise. The only catch would be, they would give up their number at asa I think. Would be nice if we were all alpa and on one list, and i think we might be going that direction. Wouldn't have to worry about all this junk.

Rumor has it that either airline is supposed to pick up furloughed guys from the other one if one starts hiring. so, in our case....the possibility of being picked up by Skywest if they need pilots before ASA recalls. I have not seen it in writing. Who knows if it will turn out to be true. That was where he was trying to go with that.

Just wondering outloud. If Skywest picks up the ASA furloughs, What happens when things inevitably pickup again. ASA would have to go the the street and start hiring/training from scratch.

Right you are sir because the regional world revolves around Gojet. It's unfortunate that it came to 2 lists like in this example but it was due to the fact that the union failed to realize the importance of securing the flying for the future of tsa. They played with management with no leverage or time against what alpa was telling them and they lost because of a foolish agenda of MEC. Actually they didn't lose they moved on, the current pilots lost, that is if TSA is still around next year. Pretty sad actually.

I think it is going to be a long time before things pick up for ASA again. ASA will have no problem finding qualified applicants from scratch when they need them. There are plenty of qualified guys and gals out on the street. After a year we have to go through the entire training again anyway. It's probably wishful thinking but if it turns out to be true that would be pretty cool.

Please tell me you didn't just rationalize your decision to work for GoJet?
