Yeah everyone should just cool there jets.. TSA will make an announcement one way or the other when it is appropriate / convenient for them. Right now, there is no point in getting worked up over nothing. Just carry on business as usual. Guys with the letter, plan on comming back but dont put all your eggs in that basket. Continue your lives just as you were last wednesday before all this started. TSA eventually will have an answer to all of this.

Well if it's a hoax, it's well prepared, I'll give em that. Scheduled classes and costly certified letters! They could have just emailed us and told us "hey you might be recalled, stay tuned"

I actually love substitute teaching...it gives me the chance to be yelled at and sworn at every minute of everyday. And the $85 a day allows me to reconnect with my parents by living at home! And lets be honest...is there anything better than cafeteria lunch!?

Ok in all serious...two questions.

1. For those of us who have been out 1 year+...what is going to be our retraining? I'm hoping its not a week of recurrent then the sim? Any ideas what we'll get?

2. Why, 5 days after all furloughed pilots have been recalled, has there not even been an email from the MEC? I realize they probaly know as little as we all do but I think even an email saying "we'll let you know as soon as we find out" would suffice. I'm not asking John Prater to come over to my house and sit in my kitchen to talk to me one on one but a little info here and there from our union would certainly be comforting?

My question is why did the letter say you have 7 days to respond when there's obviously nothing announced yet? Do they seriously expect people to go back on word of mouth? Im guessing we'll hear something soon but not soon enough apparently. I'm not expecting Prater to call me with congratulations, just something.

Guys cool your jets, don't breed dissention when absolutely nothing has happened yet. It is possible that the company has asked the union not to discuss what is happening yet. Further, we do not know if:

A. The deal was cancelled.
B. There never was a deal to begin with.
C. The deal is going through.

Relax. Take a breath have a cup of coffee, and cool your jets. It is possible that the RFP has not been finalized so TSA does not want to count there eggs, further it is possible that we were awarded the rfp BUT united / mesa asked management to keep it hush hush until they got there houses in order. Shifting flying is very delicate. If you flew for mesa, wouldn't you rather hear you were about to lose your job from your employer as opposed to a jubilant annoucement from your competition.

Again, Relax.. Don't spread misinformation, dont feed into the rumors. When something official happens one way or the other, we will know.

Actually. The less time spent in training the better for me. The thought of going back inside the STL prison just makes me shiver. Oh well.

Who cares? A lot of people have lives and families to deal with here. Going from 0 to TSA training in less than a month is a lot to ask for. I'm going to say though that there is something here, there's too much officialism from the company for it to be a dud.
