Eagle Is Recalling
#53
I find it hard to believe they are purging the entire database, especially those who they have already paid to go to the transition courses, etc. Hiring is still a long ways off, and if you are in the pool or not it is a smart plan to fly as much as you can as quickly as you can. Get your ATP before they change the rules.

Have you been following the Flight Time, Duty Time, ARC/FAA things at all?
The magic number to fly part 121 will be 1500 with an ATP... as it should have been since day one
We now return you to you regularly scheduled program....

To drive this further off topic...
Anyone think there will be a mass hiring before the rules take effect in order to get as many low time FOs as possible (so that they wont be able to leave for greener pastures, and probably willing to work for lower wages)?
Someone take the wheel and get this thread back on the road!

The proposed legislation gives 2 (or is it 3?) years for implementation after it is passed. If/when airlines hire before that due date they will not be held to the 1500/ATP mins.

The current recall is for twenty (20) pilots. Then there will be the rest of the furloughees, then the pool.
10,000 hrs or 250 I don't think you need to get your hopes up about hiring anytime soon.

I would strongly suggest to the furloughs at eagle to return. It is ok to defer initially but I would plan on coming back. The recent grievance ruling may have implications for you all. Since the arbitrator ruled flowthroughs should have been at AA years ago, that means no on should have ever been furloughed at eagle. There is discussion inside ALPA that furloughs may get a check for retro pay as part of the resolution which is going on now. This is only a rumor but I would hate for anyone to miss out.
