I was driving from ops to the maintenance hanger with one of the chief pilots during a aircraft repo. He said expect REALLY GOOD NEWS in 2 WEEKS. That was about 4 days ago. So im optimistic that something good is coming out way.

Note: This was not from a guy, that saw some stuff in a place with the thing. Furthermore, it was DEFINITELY NOT FROM A FLIGHT ATTENDANT.

Why would there be recalls if we find flying for planes that we are already currently flying? These 20 are in our fleet today, as are the added 10 90's, and we are staffed properly (Some say over staffed by all the reserves). We would not need to add much staffing to keep flying we are currently doing.

If there is an increase in overall block hours then maybe we will have some recalls.

Because we are correctly staffed now, not overstaffed. The overabundance of reserves comes with 80+ hour credit lines and an absence of red arrow days. More lines equals fewer reserves and a return of the dreaded red arrow. And this is for October. Hours will likely go up in November and December, which may make things a bit tight. In the Spring we may be fine but when summer rolls around (if we keep the 20 airplanes flying) we will be understaffed. Plain and simple. The company will have to recall or things will get ugly. It's not as if this past summer prior to the furlough we had guys sitting around with nothing to do. Most reserves were breaking guarantee. I guess it all depends on what Delta and any other partner gives us in terms of block hours, but I do not think it is unreasonable to expect to recall at least some of the furloughees for next summer.

Nice to see someone thinking optimistically.

Although, it'll most likely be "all" instead of "some," and COMAs would come to a halt.

Looks like Delta is already starting to increase seasonal hours for next spring / summer. New flying outside of the Delta umbrella would certainly drive a demand for trained guys ready to go.

Also quite the cryptic message today from BH.

That is a cryptic message. It had a cautiously optimistic tone to it.

Getting all of our pilots back would be great.

When I was at ASA you could count on a few things during recurrent.
1) Watching grainy videos for the umpteenth time.
2) Having Mgmt come in and tell everyone that they were on the verge of winning a new super secret contract.

That was the standard fare for my eight years. Hopefully it will work out. More likely next year Mgmt will say "we backed away from that RFP because it wasn't a good fit. But we have a better one in the works."
