IF and its a big IF mesaba goes down to a fleet of 41 CRJ 900's, look for Pinnacle or Skywest to purchase Mesaba from Delta rather quickly. No flame or rumor hear, just my thoughts. Pinnacle wants an all crj 900 fleet eventually and its hard to get them when there is no more room for growth.

For what its worth, i would never want this to happen.

Yeah--when we send that TA back to the NMB in shreds, I'm sure Delta is going to just sell Mesaba's planes to us with that 99% strike vote....lol...

don't all the DCI carriers want all 900 fleets, seems as though i heard awhile back DAL doesn't like the 200 and boy does 9E have a few of them...

Unfortunately the wholly-owneds don't have legally-binding contracts that protect their number of airframes. We're at our contractual minimum until 2016, and our performance numbers don't seem to ever go down--even if they treat us like crap, even if they don't pay us well (???). They can't seem to shake Mesa off with Mesa's performance numbers, it would be even harder to shake us off unless we somehow went on strike--even then I believe they have 60 days of actual work stoppage before DAL can truly break the contract on grounds of labor instability.

FWIW I don't think 9E has the capital to buy those frames anyways--they're too tied up with Colgan and their auction rate security float...

I wish i could have seen your deleted post, i bet it was fun. Our 200's are definetly not off the chopping block. No denying that.

just questioned why you think Mesaba would be sold off...i doubt it will happen...our performance numbers get included in with mainlines and they are matching 9E's...not that that has anything to do with it...we all fly mostly out of the same bases and we do the ground ops for use guys at those bases...it's really not to much different...besides all those block times get padded at XJ, CZ, and 9E...things will change when it's standard 20 minute turns...

I'm not disagreeing with you, but if we lose another 6 airframes(or something of that nature) I think our contract is amendable by the end of 2010...and you can bet since we'll be mostly a jet fleet they will be fighting for better FO pay
