Delta Inc for all intents and puposes, is every single person or entity that holds common stock in Delta Airlines. The Delta Board of Directors, overseas all financial aspects of Delta it's subsidiaries to make the shareholders a profit. Richard Anderson as CEO, is resposible to the Delta Board of Directors. Ed Bastian is the president of Delta (Delta/NWA) till SOC. RA is head honcho and oversees the day to day operations of Delta Airlines and it's subsidiaries.

And just to confuse the issue more about holding companies, NWA owns Mesaba/Compass Holdings which in turns owns Mesaba Airlines and Compass airlines

Even more confusing is that it's Mesaba Aviation, Inc. doing business as Mesaba Airlines

Blueridger - actually, MCH was quietly dissolved months ago. Right around the time the announcement was made DCI and Compass HDQs were moving to MSP. So, Compass, Mesaba and Comair all fall under the DCI umbrella.

I absolutely hate the USA today. The WSJ while very boring and wordy is 10X more informative. The USA today has better crosswords though... I can never get the really difficult ones. Supposedly certain days of the week have harder puzzles then others???

Mondays are the easiest and they get more difficult as the week goes on...

Regarding the paint being stripped due to corrosion, most of the painted saabs I've seen still have the red paint underneath the white. Take a look at where the white paint has chipped and you will still see red. I'll have to look closer next time. It could just be where there have been cargo doors and pannels replaced rather than the actual airframe (borrowed parts).

You don't have to look very hard. The plane I just flew had the white paint wearing off for 2 inches above the front windshield already...the exposed red paint was hanging on just fine though :-)

Correct. Somewhere around September 2005.

I was told that Delta has an option to buy them back within 5 years. Correct me if I am wrong.

Beats me...

XJ CRJ200s should be headed to the paint shop, or someone is lying to the Comair guys...

Comair has generously loaned two CRJ200s to Pinnacle, two to Mesaba, and two to SkyWest. These are to cover their CRJ shortages while their other aircraft are being painted.

Comair is required to keep these aircraft to be in compliance with their pilot agreement, but nowhere in the agreement does it say they need to be flown. I guess loaning them to other DCIs is OK with Comair, Delta, and ALPA.
