Its a great plane as configured as a corporate jet. That's what it was built for.

Put 50 people in a Gulfstream and lets see how well it does. =:-O

How many US carriers still use the 100. I know Comair does, but who else?

Actually the challenger was built as a cargo plane originally for Fedex Falcon 20 replacements. The fuselage even supported a bigger cargo door. But that never worked out so it became corp. Curious to see if CRJs will come back full circle and be used as freighters.

You have a source for that?

Bill Lear himself designed the LearStar 600 (later renamed Challenger when it was sold to Canadair) as a 12-passenger bizjet back in the mid-70s, with the Challenger 600 receiving FAA certification in 1980.

The FA20s started to get phased out at Federal Express after the Airline Deregulation Act was passed in 1978 and Fred Smith started buying 727s.

MESA has 1 still on United's side (N715SF)
