MESA has 1 still on United's side (N715SF)
And it's quite the POS. Flew it the other day, single-pack. How nice.

Used to fly 7011 all the time. I think it's the oldest CRJ in North America. Comair takes pretty good care of it...other than cosmetics. Is it me or does Comair have the dirtiest CRJ's?

I remember them both and you're right. They are less bent than most of the others in the fleet.

we absolutely do. DH'd on ASA and Skywest this trip and the difference, honestly, was shocking.

I think you are correct. The project was to be a larger Learjet and Lear got very upset with the design and design changes. Canadair had bulked up the airplane with a bigger fuselage and Lear was so contemptuous of the design, he referred to it as "Fat Albert" Lear left and his next project which never went into production was the LearFan. He could never get the twin-engine gear box to work.

Now renamed the Challenger, Bombardier offered a stretched version after a number of companies including IBM asked about a corporate shuttle. That then became the RJs.

I do not remember and can not find anything about the Challenger being offered to FEDEX as a freighter.

Comair has not washed a plane in years. Except when they get some volunteers to come out for an exciting day of washing an airplane. Not happening so much anymore, since everyone hates working there.
