Wearing our hats on September 11th
#21
Come on guys, if this is going to be a professional vs no professional debate, then just shut the thread down. I just saw the idea and posted it. If you think you look rediculous then dont wear it for ONE DAY.

I actually just saw this idea on another forum and i think its a good idea.
The poster suggested that those of us who dont wear our hats wear them on trips on September 11th as a way to show honor those pilots who lost their lives on that day. I was thinking about starting to wear mine anyways so I will start that day. Who is with me? It does look way more professional and after all, we are airline pilots.

Here is a novel idea....
for those of you complaining about not getting professional wages or not being treated as a professional.... how about starting to act like one first, and wear your full uniform each and every day.... yes; this would include the hat.

Yeah, being ex-military wearing a cover indoors is just wrong to me, especially those goofy-looking frame covers that some of the airlines have. And we never wore a cover "over the flight line", there it's not a part of a uniform, it's just FOD.
Maybe the airlines could adopt a "p*ss cutter" instead, and then I could put my extra-cool "afterburner" crush in it. LOL.

It all makes sense now, I saw a 9E wearing his hat the other day, and bam just like magic you guys got a TA. By the way acting and dressing like a professional are two completely different things,

I think wearing the hat for 9/11 is a nice idea.
My experiece has shown that those who act as the self appointed "uniform police" have the most ergregious issues with their own uniform

What a waist of idea and space you took on some server just by writing this... you want to honor someone DO SOMETHING USEFUL. If you're actually lazy enough to think you are "honoring" the perished by merely DOING YOUR JOB in the manner you are supposed to while dressed as required by your employer, then you are dumber then a shoe box. Come on guys lets get real and put those tiny brain cells to better use. Put a dollar in a jar and give it to someone who needs it... how about that as a start?
"l'll wear my hat in the name of your dead husband, arent you happy?? I hope this "honors" you, him, and solves all of Americas problems"
What a silly, thoughtless, arrogant idea...
Far too many great men with better hats then you died in that day. I hope you think twice before trying to "honor" others in similar ways.
An insincere patriot is worst than an honest enemy.
