You get 6 S2's a year and it's $150 fine for every one over those 6! Their only good on Compass, Mesaba, and Comair.

I am not a fan of the new pass benefits change. I love watching children of DL employees get the last seats on a flight when I am trying to go to work.
I missed a flight to work once while a Delta Connection flight instructor got on. He was an S3B and I was an S3C. Go figure.

If he was the travel companion of a mainline employee, say BF to a flight attendant, than they travel S3B just like the parent of a mainline employee who has a spouse listed.

If you're at DCI carrier, your S2's are pretty much worthless, as you can only use them on your own airline. Usually I would save mine for international trips to get Business, but now I can forget that. And like others have said, its fun watching someone's 17 year old kid, get a seat before you do while trying to get to work. But that sometimes happened even before the change in benefits last June.

Travel benefits under the DAL is better for Mesaba but there are so many senior employees at DAL and Mesaba nonreving is dicey if the flight is near full. Thank goodness for jumpseating benefits for pilots. Without that, way too many FAs and pilots who's been with NWA/DAL since the days of Moses will bump me off.
