I would hate to break it to you but xjt was the second airline or 135 operator for most of us. There are very few here who have had everything given to them.
LOL, Wow! Mommy paid for your school for sure!! Well when there is no other airline hiring you really don't have an option,.... So that's why oh and the quick upgrade which is in the past

You guys can complain about XJT pilots dogging on Colgan/Commutair/CHQ/Gulfstream pilots all you want, but if you were a 6+ year XJT pilot, you would feel the same way. I'm sure this is exactly how CAL pilots felt when XJT starting taking their jet routes, and rightfully so, but the point is, a 21 year old colgan pilot getting excited about Q400s coming to IAH is not something XJT guys are gonna get on here and smile about. Just my .02

By the way, I'm aware this is and always has been CALs flying and they can give it to whomever they want, but the point is seeing it given to pilots willing to fly more seats for cheaper is downright sad for any pilot group.
I suppose your managments getting into a peeing match with CAL over branded had nothing to do with it, eh??? Might want to be sure of all the facts before you slam others...

Who said I work for XJT there Copernicus? I know what it feels like to get the rug pulled out from under me by people who are willing to work for less cause no one else is hiring. Not fun.

I wil rephase it to say "Them" then. I was simply making an observation that the statments people use on here are usually not the whole or complete truth. I was not attacking you specifically just saying that if you deem it necessary to speak ill of another pilot group here you might want all the pertinant facts before doing so. And my name isnt copernicus, its Heather...... ( inside joke to the APC ers )

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I'm at XJT, and I'm also realistic enough to know that CAL will eventually bring the Q to IAH. I would venture a guess that anything in Louisiana and south Texas will be fair game.

I have no animosity towards the Colgan guys, I would rather give them and their newly elected MEC the benefit of the doubt as they embark in negotiating a better contract. We picked up the slack as CHQ left, and there's a chance we'll eventually replace someone in the United system, and the paint shuffle continues. What I would rather see more than any one regional getting more flying is mainline getting the flying back.

Let's just see what happens.

If all the XJT guys are so ****ed about Colgan flying the Q400 they should thank their own management. CAL approached XJT to fly them first, ask around at the school house I'm sure you can find someone who went up to Montreal to go test out the plane. Colgan only got the nod after Express Jet said thanks, but no thanks.

I hope that the Q start flying the Dallas (DFW/DAL) routes, and OKC route ... I commute to both of those cities, and they are ALWAYS weight restricted on the 145! Either that or my luck is just that bad and I just always seem to get the gimp plane, lol

Actually, this statement is only partially true. The reason why XJT passed on it is because we didn't have the infrastructure to support a prop operation anymore, and launching it for what was at the time 15 frames (the original offer with no options), would not have been cost effective for XJT. Rumor has it (take it with a grain of salt) that our mgt. asked CAL to share the cost of launching the venture, and they decided it was more cost effective for them to just give the contract to Colgan. Either way, I don't think anyone is bitter, with a few exceptions who tend to be very vocal here.

There is a mission for both the Q and the ERJ (particularly for the XR), so I'm sure we'll be able to retain a good portion of our market share, and Colgan will get a few more markets. Most of us here at XJT, realize that the future of the company lies with expansion elsewhere anyways (possibly UA).
