The cyclic rate of the M-16 is 1200 rounds per-minute that will give you 1 min 40 seconds of continuous fire at the cyclic rate. I'd keep buying, especially since non deployed military unit budgets were cut 30-40 percent on June 1. I guess we have to pay for the stimulus some how!

Actually its 650 to 800 rpm depending on the model. (A1, A2, A4 or M4)
Just FYI.

Well, unless he's got a really funky M-16/M-4/AR-15, I don't think it matters, they fire 5.56. Now is it 7.62NATO or 7.62x39?

I'd make it 25,000. Or just start your own 'nuke-u-lar' program in your basement.

I do see a pilot shortage in the next 3-4 years. Its a 3 fold problem:

1) Age 65 is a bandaid that will start coming off in 3.5 years.

2) Regional pilots in general (mostly captains though) will be further entrenched at their regional in terms of pay and QOL, and won't want to leave.

3) Nobody is starting flight training anymore. I wouldn't do it if I knew it would be 100k of debt to get into this.

I think majors are going to eliminate the pic requirement all together. Hopefully multi crew and outsourcing don't ruin it all.

I wouldn't say that. I know a guy that just left his wife and dropped 50 grand to start training at ATP to get into this.

As far as the other stuff. No PIC for majors would be great. I would much rather be an F/O at a major than be a RJ captain. If a captain at a regional wants to stay there, then I say move over. I'll take your spot at a major.

You got me, I was being a comedian, the A2 has an 800 rpm. Just got my old BST book out.

Haha yea I would say so but people do have valid reasons to be worried about the future but every generation thinks the world is "more dangerous than it has ever been before."

Remember its usually never as bad as advertised nor will it ever be as good as predicted either. Never take marriage, political, or money advice from a pilot.

As for Fox News, its probably wise to stay away from all 24 hr news stations completely to have a better understanding of what is really going on without the fear mongering and over exaggerating.
