In order to get released the mediator has to decide that negotiations have come to an impasse. Then the NMB would have to agree and start the 30 day cooling off period. Any strike (if it came to that) would still be a few months away at the shortest.

I think this is the most appropriate I've ever heard of to use this expression:

"6 of one, half dozen of the other"

It's not as if we are going to have another "strike vote". This gives the MEC the ability to call a strike when it is lawful to do so.

Just curious....because Gojet is under the same management group, if TSA decided to strike couldn't they just give all the flying to Gojet? Or even give an ultimatem and move all the flying to Gojet?

If we do go on strike I hope we are prepared in the megaphone-enhanced excitement area. Got to get some real chants goin. Get the crowd real worked up.

theres no doubt TSA is a bottomfeeder but the pilot group is as good as it gets anywhere. ive never been ashamed to call myself a waterskier furloughed or not. thanks guys.

This isn't really up in the air. It WILL happen, and G7 pilots will either fly it or be fired. Of course, they do not have the crews or the planes to take over 100% of it. It will only be a small portion, but enough to add them to the scab list and still be sucking out of Hulas' wallet.

They've been planning the above for a long time. I just don't see how management can settle this without some kind of ultimatum, it's about Gojet and the job security at this point.

If we do end up striking, it will certainly show GoJet's true colors. I still have a shred of hope for them to get behind us without trying to drive a knife in at the same time. Only time will tell.

When was the last time any carrier here in the U.S has gone on strike?

Good luck guys, but I can see management all sitting around a couple of beers laughing this off... pilots trying to strike in the U.S.

But if you guys pull it off, more power to you. Would be nice to see for a change.
