Hey, Duck, I was thinking along the lines that if don't get a "profit bonus" this year-end, I hope we at LEAST get the ham....lol. It's amazing how many crew actually depend on that bonus for their kids presents, that's sad that they have to depend on that, and if we don't get it even sadder.

Looking like we could end up with bupkis this year if the well dries up as someone else put.

You know the ones; they are the very same ones who approved those CR7's at CR2 rate. They are the very same ones who approved the 0% raise for EMB pilots, 1% for the CR2 and the BS Brad Holt Override (BHO) back in 06. They are the very same ones who voted yes for the last pay increase in 07 even though it was 5% (on average) less than ASA, didn't establish completely separate pay rates for the CR2 & CR7/9's and it included a joke of a COLA.

To date I’ve NEVER voted YES at SKW and if the Q’s went to a vote, it would make it my 5th “NO” vote. But I’m in the minority and I know that most all of the SKW posters on the forum share most of my minority views.
Told you, I WASN'T flaming you and understand your position on the matter. I was simply clarifying the point you were making. Or rather, boiling down to something more basic and to the point of the fiasco that happened there.

Those industry-leading payscales that were hard fought in the past don't lead to success in the future. You think we've been kickin' tail for the last 10 years? It sure wasn't from getting Horizon wages...or Comair wages...or Air Wisconsin wages.

You see sir, it's a fine balance between what's fair, practical, and possible. CRJ200 base rate is all three in my opinion. Higher margins for United and SkyWest, increased opportunity for the SkyWest pilots and, most importantly, sustainability.
You may have been kicking tail for the last 10 years because you weren't getting Horizon, Comair, or AWAC wages but you can sure thank them for what you do get in your wages.

To date SKW has always paid a “fair” wage. Yes not an industry leading but total compensation wise it is very competitive. And yes we didn't have to fight for it; those at Comair, ASA, XJT, Mesaba, etc did the work for us many years ago. I wish more would realize that without the support of “others” there would be no “ours.”
The bottom line is that you will never get what you could potentially can without collective bargaining. We need collective bargaining at financially strong airlines like SKW to put upward pressure on wages ala SWA, FDX, UPS, NJA, etc.

By the way, doesn't SKW already have pay rates for that size aircraft? I'm too lazy right now to look it up. As a side note, another thing that JA and Co wanted from their buyout of XJT was a pre-negotiated rate for Q400.

Unless you are talking about the 700 being a 70 seat JET and the same rate as the Q, I don't think they have anything in place.

I remembered SKW having rates for aircraft they didn't have. I guess I was confused the E170/175 rate for being a Q400 rate.
