At AWAC some short ones are...

CLT-GSO
PHL-AVP
ERI-PIT (although i think that one is a thing of the past)
PHL- Allentown
PHL-MDT

We even used to do CLT-PHF-ORF... the PHF-ORF leg was blocked at 5 minutes.
I've been in GSO when republic has departed for Charlotte, I didnt know there was the load between GSO and CLT for a 170.

I know it's hub to hub, but the Q400 from SEA to PDX seems like a pretty good fit to me.

CLT-CAE is also pretty quick. Done that. PIT-ERI is crazy short too. Did that with a captain who 'resigned' a couple years ago. He almost got lost and flew to Canada on that longhaul flight!

I also once did PHL-MDT when I was on RSV and that is a short one! But the short ones aren't bad as pilots. No boredom. But they sure are dumb. The RJ was designed for 'long, thin' routes. Not 'short, fat' routes.

In my book nothing should fly to Dubai. Or Bombay or Tokyo or Sidney, heck Detroit to Seattle is too far to sit in a plane for me. I'd do Detroit to Harrisburg all day long. Long enough to not be rushed, short enough to not get bored.

Regional used to mean within 500 miles or so.... as in one REGION of the country.... now we see "regional" planes doing BOS-MCO, DEN-ATL & Chicago to Nassau type flying... sorry, folks, that ain't "regional" and pretty much ends the debate as to if these things have cost mainline jobs....

Thanks for continuing to lower the bar.

This is my favorite that we did a couple days ago:

FlightAware > Live Flight Tracker > Shuttle America #7567 > 08-May-2009 > KORD-CYEG

Used to do all the short CVG stuff too...there's got to be a happy medium there somewhere.

Never had those legs cancel but yes it would have stunk since, as of now, we do not have cancelation pay. One of the many things we are working on with our next contract.

I am going to bet your "trying" to be funny. Don't quit your day job.

I know at one time I was non reving to CLT to GSO and it was on a 319. This was a couple of years ago. I was suprised, the flight was I'd say maybe a 75% load.
