On another note, I'm sick of the I need XX hours of overtime to take care of my expenses... bla bla blah....
If the job doesn't pay enough, then don't take the job. If enough people did that, the job would pay more... then you wouldn't have this problem. As long as management can get away with paying poor wages because people will slave away working overtime to make ends meet, then management keeps more money.... and wages won't change because the job is getting done.
paying a 20-50% overides is much much much cheaper than paying an entire salary plus full benefits. As long as they can fill XX number of hours per day with OT then they won't need extra pilots. As long as the pay is substandard, the pilots will NEED to work those extra hours... it's a symbiotic relationship. The key is to get your extra income somewhere else, and not to reward the airline management for their mismanagement. Is there a time and a place to do overtime; sure there is. When it suits your purposes, not theirs.

You should read the RLA before making posts like this. Advocating withholding of services is a big no no....
Really? Apparently you have never heard of an administrative subpoena...
finding out who somebody is on a BSS such as this is not as difficult as you may think it is... especially for a Corp that spends over 300 million per year just on their full time legal division of lawyers... and if you don't think they'd do it, then you don't know AMR. They have done more, for less, many many times... 27 bucks to file a suit, and 10 minutes to type up the administrative subpoena is nothing... they'll do it just to pizz ya off and cause you problems.

I tried to explain this, but some of the new kids here full of **** and vinager don't realize they're no longer on the campus strip hammered at 2 AM and talking smack to another drunken college chucklehead. In this case, this guys now dealing with a multi billion dollar corporation with their hands on HIS cojones and they can squeeze them to jelly (along with his career) if they want to over this move.

So maybe the strategy is to pretend like we don't have any cojones? No thanks. This used to be a respected profession.

You are letting your emotions dictate your decisions.
Do I agree with the idea of not working OT; yes. However, what you are not considering is who it is exactly that you are trying to fight. AMR will spend millions from one account to save pennies in another account. They do not care, period... end of story.
You have to pick your fights very carefully when dealing with AMR. Your talking about a multinational company with about 100,000 employees, that is so large a President of the US refused to let just one unit of the company strike a few years ago because the effect to the economy would be too great. Places like Republic, ExpressJet, Mesa, or Comair.... could never say that.
The reality is that witholding OT services at Eagle would not be wise decision.
AMR has bottomless deep pockets and is more than willing to outspend their competition to win any legal battle.

Many guys on here don't work for Eagle, so I wouldn't blast their solidarity, I'm one of your antagonists and I sure don't work for any faction of AMR. My personal belief is that not picking up open time, unless requested by the union, formally or informally, is basically like urinating in to the wind.

neither do I, and the only OT I ever worked was when it suited my purposes, not theirs... in other words the trip went someplace I wanted to go, or was with a crew I wanted to work with. There are plenty of ways to make money, prostituting myself by working OT for airline management isn't on my high list of to do items.

Now, it's every pilot for himself with a thousand rationalizations from major pilots and regionals alike why THEIR interests are paramount.
Fly safe.

When the company has called in need of help, I've told them no. Not because I didn't want to help them, I just didn't feel like working on my days off.
