I would fight that, you should be eligible for UI. Dont let them get away with not paying (cause they will try)

You are appreciated. God Bless

I think this would be a good place to show appreciation to all of you on here who stuck to principle, maintained your employment and continue to ignore the drivel that claims Gojet pilots are scabs and/or bringing down the industry.

You are appreciated.

How could you get denied? Were you only at the company for training and then furloughed? Maybe you did not work long enough to meet the minimum requirements for U.I.

Stop looking for flying jobs and go get a real job. Anything is better than ruining your credit by not paying your loans. And don't expect to be recalled any time soon, if ever, by Comair. I was there two years and by the replies I have got from J.B. on emails, I don't think anyone will be recalled. Most likely looking at less hours and possible additional furloughs in the fall.

I also was denied unemployment after being furloughed in October. I don't know if it's too late to correct the problem now. I just figured they denied it so that was it. They said I hadn't put sufficient funds into UI. I've only been working since I was 16.

I've only been working since I was 16 too. Oh, wow, that was 25 years ago! Damn, almost time to retire!
My son is 19 and got laid off from his job and got U.I. He just got called back.

Did you file NY or your home state? Maybe, if you filed NY, you were not there long enough (working in NY) to file there. You should try your home state if that is the case.

U.I. is a federal program administered by each individual state. Your benefit is usually based on a percentage of income earned in the first four of the last five completed quarters (called a base period) before your claim is filed. The state responsible for providing benefits is usually the one where the majority of the taxes were paid. You may have applied in the wrong state and they were less than helpful on which state you should apply in, or you did not earn enough money, which is unlikely. To give you an example, in TX to be eligible you must have earned income in at least two of four base period quarters, and earned at least a total income of $2146.
Most states are similar due to federal guidelines that regulate these programs.

If you only been unemployed since Oct., your probably still eligible, although your weekly benefit maybe lower.

Hope this helps

Yeah so do I and I didn't have to sell my pride among my fellow pilots to get it.

I'm sure he's real worried about what his fellow pilots think. This so called "pride" you speak of was gone a long time ago. If he or she is happy at Mesa, Gojets or whatever other airline foks like yourself consider sub-par than more the power to them, 25,000 a year is 25,000 a year no matter how you spell it, they can hitch a ride with me anytime.
