Training starts May 22nd in Houston. The interview went pretty much as expected. 3 on 1 interview, written test and sim ride. The written was much harder than I anticipated. Apparently, the applicants were getting very high marks on the test and Colgan decided to make it a little more challenging. The sim was a level d full motion Beech 1900. It was a blast! Anyway, just trying to anticipate which base I may get sent to.

Don't expect to get a base until you are done or almost done with sim. Try to stay away from maint. bases and lean more toward the US Airways side if you want flight time.
If your young and single go for the college towns.

It's seriously a crapshoot. Don't expect to get Houston in your first 6-9 months. There's at least 5 FOs, including myself, that are waiting to transfer there. If you don't want to be on reserve for very long then don't bid for Houston, Manassas, or Albany. Don't worry about studying before you get to training because you will have plenty of time to learn and absorb everything. How many did they say are going to be in the class?

They actually did not say exactly how many are in the class. I was told that they hired 4 out of 22 applicants but I don't know if they have conducted more interviews since then. I'm not really interested in Houston or any of the other bases you mentioned. Why does Albany have such a long reserve time? The bases I'm most interested in are Ithaca, Binghamton and Allentown. I'm not really that picky. I'd just like to get in there and start flying!
