Is a skywest furlough idea being tossed about in the crew lounges/company emails ? Here at ASA, a lot of stink has been made that we furloughed already...

Skywest is a great company to work for, and it will be worth your wait.

Hang in there. Skywest is not going away anytime soon. Unfortunately, I can't say that about certain other regionals out there.
This is some sound advice.

You would not take a job? In this economy? Maybe if you already have a reasonably secure job, but if not....take what you can!

Not really rumors, but factual communication between management and SAPA. After VLA's (and it looks like part-time lines also) are accounted for, the company will look at the magnitude of the post-summer slowdown, and make a furlough decision at that time. Definitely a possibility, but nobody knows the staffing numbers yet,

With only one A/C and one domicile I would guess that it is alot cheaper to furlough at ASA than at SKW.

They may only have one type but they still operate separate lists for the CR2 and the CR7/9.

True...300 furloughs could generate a lot of training events and moving expenses between two airplanes, four seats, and a gazillion domiciles.

I am with you. I was hired in the middle of May, 2008 and was scheduled for the Aug. 4 class date for the 120. That is good news that we apparently do not have to re-interview. I spoke to HR back in January, and they assured me the pool would remain active. I was worried it would be dissolved and we would have to start the process all over again...

Good luck everyone...it is just a matter of time.
