Also another thing that is from my understanding is that ASA is planning a trip to the Montreal production center to receive some more of these awarded 900's. This is something that is talked about all over the website. With that being said, there are still 900's to be built. How does this add into the "already too many 900's" in service factor? Am I missing something here.

Please no speculation of what you think. This is all stuff that is presented to me as an employee from our company. Not stuff heard off streets.

Lastly, why the heck is everyone acting like a bunch of little kids when it comes to these stretch RJ's. Seems like everytime someone starts a conversation it leads to "they have to many 900's" "the don't deserve 900's" "ASA will NEVER get 900's". Who the crap cares?

Just wondering that's all.
It was a normal discussion going on until you jumped in with all the emotion

Just to clarify the factory 900s yet to be delivered are already included in the new 76 seat scope limit.

I sent this to Brad Holt a few days ago about the "red arrow" days in sked plus:

Dear Mr. Holt,

My name is XXXXXXX and I am a First Officer on the CRJ200. I was curious to see if you could provide some insight into reserve staffing for March. Currently, SkedPlus+ shows several days marked as "Reserve Staffing Below Minimums." This deeply concerns me given that we have furloughed pilots on the street. I am not sure how accurately these marked days reflect actual staffing levels, but it does prevent trip/reserve swaps. If there are not enough reserve reserve pilots, I can think of about 80 pilots who are qualified to fill these spots.

Thanks in advance for your help.

About 12 hours later, he sent this:

XXXXXX, to answer your question, as you are aware there are a lot of moving parts in our schedule every month but especially in March - including the introduction of the CRj-900's and the training that goes along with that. We are certainly not short on crews but in this case our schedule for reserves etc. have to be written so far in advance that the distribution of reserves is sometimes uneven. When you see the "reserve staffing below minimums" that is an indicator that we are staffed lower than normal but does not mean we are short. Adjustments have to be made on an ongoing basis to even out reserve coverage because things like sick calls, emergencies, deaths in the family, kids sick, doctors appointments, last minute military duty and the list goes on, but we are not dropping below the minimum number of required reserves in most cases with the exception of extreme circumstances. As we work to become more efficient (which is a must for survival in this environment) we are forced to manage #'s more closely than in the past and as we do that there will be higher reserve utilization and lower number of reserves available. I hope this helps but if not please let me know and I'll give you more detail ok. I hope all else is well with you and if you need anything at all please let us know ok.
Best regards,

Brad H.

It really ****ed me off to see red arrow days in SkedPlus, so I thought I'd ask...

Open-door policy brought over from the SkyWest side of the house. You can't but respect that!

I do appreciate his open door policy a lot. We do have good management at ASA. I truly believe that BH, SH, and CT, and the rest of the guys and girls in management did everything they could to avoid a furlough. These are tough times and cuts had to be made and 80 isn't that bad of a number compared to some of the other regionals.

These 900's from the factory have already been awarded. Therefore they are already included in the scope count. So after all 10 are at ASA, and any others at Pinnacle and Mesaba, then DAL will be at the allowed max. The only way ASA could receive more 900's (under current scope) is if they are taken from another carrier (much like the ones received were slated for Mesaba). This could probably go both ways and ASA lose 900's too. Smarter people feel free to correct.

I think someone would have to do a 3 for 1 swap to steal the -900s away from us. I hope the DCI shuffle doesn't turn into that, though I'm sure Delta would love it.....

ah, thanks for clearing that up. I don't really get too involved with the technicalities. That's what APC is for.
