Return of the props

Remember who is flying the Q and for how long though. Lynx started 15 months ago and is under Chap 11. Colgan started a year ago and hasn't had a chance to negotiate yet. I am sure both will have much better pay scales in two years.
Horizon has been at it for a while and have better pay than most RJ 700's.

For a jet it is very slow but it is also nearly 60+ knots faster than most competing props.
I think we can pass the citation 1 and 2...thats gotta be worth something right?

The missions that the Q400 and most turboprops were designed for do not require a 450KTAS cruise speed. It doesn't go that high, so its not getting in anyone's way at cruise. It climbs quickly so it can reach its cruising speed in short amount of time and its only doing routes like EWR-BUF. Calling it slow as hell because its not as fast as a CRJ is ignorant. It's not a CRJ...its a Q400.

If your talking about toyota the company then I agree. I laugh at the coments of poeople who think the 200 is going away tomarrow. There may be alot less of them but the 200 has its place just like the Q400 and "the 9" whichever "9" you are thinking of.

Most of those Colgan ALPA guys couldn't sign up to fly the Q400 fast enough, while at the same time pushing for a drive to get ALPA in hopes of better work rules, QOL, and compensation. If that's not hypocracy, then I don't know what is.
50 Seat RJ pay to fly a 74 Seat aircraft is an insult, however I don't have a problem with the guys who fly the Q. I only have a problem with the guys who complain about the pay yet still are more than willing to fly it, time to grow a backbone or shut your yap...take your pick.
