As many people on here as possible should take a few minutes and send MSNBC an e-mail. We all know they are imbeciles, but this is absolutely intolerable news reporting.
The may be imbeciles, but not as bad as FOX NEWS! I hate those guys!

If the NTSB rules it "pilot error" at the end of the investigation, then that is what it will be. Pilots are human and we are all prone to make mistakes over our career. If other pilots or the public can not understand that then they need a reality check.

What's crazy is the fact that regional pilots are treated like crap and then when something like this happens, they continue to be crapped on after their death. There is no peace after life for the regional pilot.

The media really sucks. You just have to wonder *** they are coming up with for other stories. I'm sure professionals in other fields just roll their eyes when the media makes up weird stuff about their subject areas. Its not about truth anymore, its about sensationalism.....Except PBS, they are so boring.

I keep hearing this ... but where is that quoted? Is that in the flight manual? Or is that on their website or a press release?

I just find it very hard to believe.

There are so many things circling around the media right now it's almost gotten to the point to where I can't keep track of what's been said anymore. I got a PM from some dude on here claiming that his father had been in the airlines for 20+ years and just wanted me to give him some info on the crews to "clear up" their names (Juice, he said he tried to get info from you and you basically were told him to ... well ... yeah, that gave me a laugh). He said it looked from my posts that I knew the captain fairly well, which I do, but I tried to respond with a simple "I will not release any information about any of the crew members to anyone outside of Colgan Air" ... only to find that he doesn't accept PMs and I would have to email him. I got a nice kick out of that before I deleted it.

Concerning the pilot error issue. I have absolutely no doubt in mind that both Marvin and Becki did everything in their power to keep that plane and it's passengers safe and out of harms way. That being said, the rest of these posts are spot on when it's said that 98% of all plane crashes are determined to be pilot error in some way or another. Whether this one does or not, in the end I know in my own mind that the truth of the matter is, whatever happened, everything that could have been done was done.

May they RIP

I told him to get lost because his motives sounded very suspicious. He said he was a 727/737 pilot but then said he only had a few sim hours, then he was a 172 pilot...all lies.

He then sent me a PM saying that my inactions to help "clear my friends name" are a discrace and that I should be ashamed of myself. This made me feel better about telling him to kiss it.

Sleazy law firms will employ any number of minions to ferret out any information they may believe beneficial to ultimately generate a payoff for them.

Everyone here should assume that anyone asking squirrely questions about specifics of this crew, airline or accident (other then personal opinion, speculation and valid discussion by those whove been logged in here for a while) is someone representing the intersts of those seeking ultimate payoff.

Be ESPECIALLY wary of posters (or PM'ers) that have suddenly presented themselves with a handful of posts since the accident.

Cash is still king and many people out there only care about that.
