Default Great Lakes Airlines Hiring???

I saw the old thread has been closed and didn't really want to open a new thread, but oh well... I'd like to know how things are at Great Lakes? I may have an interview with them soon and wondering what I could expect from there? The flight school I work for has essentially shut its doors and very likely isn't going to be opening back up soon, so I'm definitely interested in this now. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Funny thing is, he also posted in that thread.

Yes, GL is hiring, but like everyone else, get in line...

Three of my flight instructors interviewed a few weeks ago and they all three start this coming Monday. They said the interview was two on one for about 30 min. with some tech questions and HR questions. That was it. Read the boards on aviationinterviews and mypilotcareer to get a grasp on areas of questioning. Good Luck!!!

Thanks guys, I'll be checking those sources asap! Track - I didn't get a response till early this week. I had applied back in October of '08 and never heard anything till I emailed them. Give them an email and hopefully they will reply. Good luck to all!

My opinion, furloughed guys are at a disadvantage. Great Lakes knows you guys will go back when you guys get the recall, flight instructors don't have anything to back to.

I would generally agree. I don't know first hand, because I'm not involved with hiring, but I have the general feeling that we don't want to load up on furloughed pilots on the FO side. That could bite us in the butt pretty hard. Saying that, there are a handful of furloughed regional guys on the line as FOs. I know of at least a couple, and I'm sure there are more than I know about. It seems as though we haven't hesitated at all to take on former Lakes captains, who are currently furloughed from the majors. Even captains that have been gone from Lakes for years have been able to come right back into the left seat. I've only heard of one captain they didn't allow to come back. It was for ridiculous reasons...but....I digress...
