Just when I thought I was out of furlough, they drag me back in.

Guess I'll be stuck flying for a mom and pop 135 cargo op.

I got the same email, can't wait for another 1000 hours of instructing and pipeline flying!

Yes, only the April class. They are just finishing systems, after they take the final, they go home. The word is August is when interviews and/or classes will start again and meanwhile upgrades will continue.

God that sucks a friend of mine was in that class....what are they going to do, just send them home till fall and bring them back? I'm gonna call him, just another blow to pilots already in dire straights..

The really frustrating thing is this all hinges around Lakes' capability to pick up more aircraft. There are tons of Mesa/Air Midwest birds but Lakes can't seem to figure out a way to procure them

So basically I take from this that even though I did extremely well in the interview and answered every question confidently and correctly to the best of my knowledge, that they based the decision on information that they could see on my resume before I was even offered the interview. Thank you GLA for the Top Notch rip off of $1800, the cost of preparing for this interview, including buying time to get current, new medical, airline tickets, hotel, etc., etc. I just love spending money I don't have.

The silver lining however comes from the previous post, saying that if I were hired I would be in a pool until August. This shows that everything happens for a reason, and hopefully a better opportunity will now present itself.

I sincerely wish everyone who interviewed the best, and to those who were hired, congratulations! It is a glimmer of hope, and an opportunity for a job which today isn't easy to come by. I just hope that those in the pool currently have jobs to support them until a class begins.

Until next time....
As posted before, don't take this personally. I interviewed many times before getting hired (I interview like I fly- terrible) one of the failed interviews was with GLA 7 years ago and ironically, they mailed (now I guess they save the $.42 stamp) the same EXACT-VERBATIM letter to me. For some reason some years later, they hired me. Your situation right now is same that I was in. At the time, there were thousands of pilots out looking for that same job. Many of them had 10 times the experience- that is the bad news. Good news is that persistance pays off. Keep plugging and know that you are not alone. You are right that everything does happen for a reason- two of my interview failures were at Mesa and I thank god I was not hired there.

Default Classes cancelled

Great lakes will probably hang out for a month or so then hire again. These things are usually poorly planned around here.

I rarely log on anymore but I HAD TO to respond to this one. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. You actually thought they sat down and typed you a letter to tell you why you didn't get the job!? NO airline would do that and especially not Great Lakes.
