So basically I take from this that even though I did extremely well in the interview and answered every question confidently and correctly to the best of my knowledge, that they based the decision on information that they could see on my resume before I was even offered the interview. Thank you GLA for the Top Notch rip off of $1800, the cost of preparing for this interview, including buying time to get current, new medical, airline tickets, hotel, etc., etc. I just love spending money I don't have.

The silver lining however comes from the previous post, saying that if I were hired I would be in a pool until August. This shows that everything happens for a reason, and hopefully a better opportunity will now present itself.

I sincerely wish everyone who interviewed the best, and to those who were hired, congratulations! It is a glimmer of hope, and an opportunity for a job which today isn't easy to come by. I just hope that those in the pool currently have jobs to support them until a class begins.

Until next time....
Bronco Bird. That e-mail was probably just a form letter they send to all people who are not offered a job.

I agree that it is a very frustrating situation. You have very right to feel frustrated. These are some very tough times. Hang in there though. This situation will eventually turn around. Don't let it get the better of you.

Here's my expenses-
-Car
-Insurance
-Cell phone

-Utilities

Training is usually just a little over 1 month. Top-ramen and whatever else for 1 month = not too spendy. Upgrade as soon as humanely possible = just a bit under 40 grand to fly the luxury liner. Do we undercut other major/regional carriers for routes = no, not even close. Should the pay be better = absolutely YES!!! See IBT 747 threads. We are working more than ever to make change at this little carrier. Change does need to happen. We are more unified than ever to make this happen!!!

(Sigh) I got the same email. Just when I thought there was a glimmer of light this industry casts its ugly shadow. What can you do

This is what my email said word for word. I took out the contact info though.

After recent review our current staffing levels and operational need for additional flight crew members, Great Lakes Airlines has temporarily suspended active hiring at this time. Please be advised that candidates interviewed on May 8, 2009 will be considered for a hiring pool in anticipation of a future class date once active hiring resumes.

We currently have you scheduled for an interview on 5/8/2009 at 11:00:00 AM and look forward to meeting with you.

If you wish to withdraw your application from consideration, or have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 307.555.5555 or via email (@flygreatlakes.com).

I'm interviewing as well on the 8th....then it will be a race between a new hire class at Lakes or a recall letter from PSA. Should make for a fun summer!
