Default Anyone ever jumpseat to DRO?

I'm trying to get there next month and was wondering how loads usually were and how often the flights were weight critical. Thanks in advance for any help.

Which airline and/or aircraft are you flying on?

Flew in there a few times this month out of DEN and acommodated several jumpseaters...loads were very, very light (as they have been across the system from what I've seen).

Going skiing?!

Live in DRO, used to do it a few times a month. It really depends on the time of year. Right now the loads are light and there is a flight every few hours. In summer the flights get up to about every hour but the loads are high and taking off in DEN has its limits. I've seen the dash restricted to 30 pax on a bad day and the crj to 40.

PM me with any questions

Easy to commute from DRO. Jump on Lynx they are not usually full and will happily take anyone with a badge... They have a couple a flights a day.. The crews are friendly. Take em some green chile from the choke and puke inside the DRO terminal.

Thanks for the info guys. Yes, I'm going skiing... have some family that lives there. I plan on getting in to DEN early in the morning, and I guess I'll just try the first and subsequent flights between Skywest/Mesa/Lynx and take whatever I can get. Thanks again.

Default Lesson learned

Don't pass up any of the Lynx flights for a United CRJ flight.

I made that mistake last month, Dec. 2, 08. Came into Terminal C, saw that there was a Skywest CRJ going out of Terminal B about the same time as Lynx out of Terminal A. I couldn't make a try @ one and still make the other, so I went to Skywest first b/c it was closer. The agent told me the loads were "great" I should have ran for Lynx right then, but I didn't. I listed for the seat. Didn't even bother going to Lynx.

1.5 hours later, I'm sitting in the gate area and I see my name on the 'not cleared' list. I should have ran for Lynx right then, but I didn't.

Now the agent is telling me "You'll make it, but can you sit in the flightdeck just in case?" I should have ran for Lynx right then, but I didn't. Instead, I replied, 'Sure, as long as the Captain ok's it.'

I ran into the CA, asked about the weight, he told me 'I think you'll be ok'. I should have ran for Lynx right then, but I didn't.

Now I'm getting on the plane, and the CA's telling me, 'Man, I'm trying to get you on, but . . .' I should have ran for Lynx right then, but I didn't. I wait, and, sure enough, I'm not gonna' make it b/c of weight. It's early December, there's snow on the ground in both DRO and DEN, and I'm weight denied. And I missed the Lynx flight too.

I went directly to Terminal A and Lynx and didn't even ask the Skywest agent about the loads for the next UAX CRJ. I got on easily and had a row all to myself on Lynx. My Lynx flight arrived 2-3 minutes after the UAX CRJ . . . which was likely weight restricted.

Lesson learned. Always take a Dash or mainline before an RJ.

Dash as in Q400, perhaps...but I'd take a CRJ over the Dash-8's any day. Glad you finally made it LoL

I've always wanted to try that Q400. It's supposed to be the quietest and best prop airliner. One guy that I talked to, in his exact words said that it was a POS. Still it looks nice and I hear it's got a FADEC system.
