skywest hiring

I haven't had time to look it up yet...but I don't think the jets for jobs requires all new hires to be UAL. I think they just have to offer a certain percentage of the slots in a new hire class. So in a class of say 10, perhaps 4 or 5 would be offered to furloughed United guys. I'll do some research later on that.

I think the poolies will come first. They are folks who've actually been hired by SKW (not inc). I would understand UA or ASA guys coming before off the street applicants, but many of the poolies were actually scheduled for classes that ended up being canceled. Just my take

It just quotes the VP saying that 2010 block times have "increased substantially" over 2008 and 2009 and that "early projections" show that pilot monthly credit hours will be at 90+ hours with higher numbers in June, July, August and December.
HR says that we will be informed as soon as they know "where the slots will be allocated."
Edit: The beginning of the email indicates that they're not sure "whether these slots will go to the United folks".
If it's any indication of how many people are in the pool, the email sent from HR has 116 email addresses on it. There's a CRJ pool, and an EMB pool. I'm not sure how it's split up, I'd assume 58 and 58.

Definitely great news during these times. To not have any guys on the street and be hiring right now is something very few places can say they are doing. My sentence at Mesa is almost up. Hope to be joining SkyWest soon!
